Hazy golden color; the large head disappears quickly. The aroma is wonderful, cobwebs and dry citrusy fruits, grapefruit, an idea of tropical fruits, and cheese. Highly carbonated, smooth, with strong citrusy flavor, yellow fruit; mild cobwebs; acidity and astringency are moderate, almost mellow.
Huge balance and dynamism.

Enjoyed it, easy to drink and light to medium sourness. The champannoise method (degorgement) gives it a good look. It would be a nice introduction to the style if the price wasn’t so high. Unfortunately not worth the 50$+ asking price.

Initiated by wine makers, ’champenoise’ version of Oud Beersel lambic, since 2013. Coarse, loose, off-white, quickly collapsing, champagne-like foam, colour light blonde with greenish hue like a witbier, misty. Powerful and very eccentric aroma of dry sherry, white grapes, lemon zest, straw, grapefruit, green apple, strawberry vinegar, sweat; taste begins with a lively fruity acidity (apple, kiwi, gooseberry), subdued lambic character of which the wheat comes through most conspicuously, citric acid, soft tingling mouthfeel very comparable to champagne or prosecco, vinous, finishing in a light grassy and peppery hop bitterness, long and dry. The crazy idea of making flat lambic sparkling by applying the champagne-making method to it has been well executed here, I even dare say this is an important addition to Belgian beer culture but I still have to get used to this kind of beverage. A very suitable apéritif, that is for sure.

Aroma is cheesy, barnyard and earthy yeast, light wheat malt, black walnut and old earthy hops. Flavor is lactic fruits, wheat malt, black walnut, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation.

Bottle at the mondiale 2014. Clear golden pour, with a hige white head. The aroma is ALL funk. Unbelievable amount of funk. Horse blanket, super sour lemon, wet hay, and crusty bread are all present. The carb is perfect, and the mouth feel is very good. The finish is just all funk. This is one of the sourest lambics ive had. Its so sour the finish actualy starts to detract from some of the subtle flavours. Good but not great.
