4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2013 Thx. to Kraddel / Dylan for this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Golden, white head. Smell is floral, lots of horse blanket, zesty, herbs, funky, bright apples. Taste is soft lambic, citrus, fruity, zesty, herbs, horse blanket, floral, young apples, fruity, wonderful with Champagne bubbly which works great here, effervescent. By far the best thing from this guys, I love it, the Champagne thing is done perfectly.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Towering, just yellowish head, slowly collapsing and receding into faintly veiled golden-yellow beer; very lively carbonated. Excellent lambic nose with lots of lemony citrus, lemonbalm, lemonmint and springtime farmyard odours. Restrained leathersoap aroma; very fresh-smelling. Sharp, tart, sourish with a lively spicy background. Lemonpeel in force. Ultra-dry, and very pearling without ever being fizzy. Fully attenuated, as behoves a gueuze. Whether Frank Boon, whether the young guys at Oud Beersel, whomever made this made a perfect gueuze, the kind we will always want.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Where the Wild Beers Are 2012. This might be the best beer I have had out of Beersel. This beer is well carbonated with a tall head, and a bright gold color. Powerful aroma with yeast and an herbal character. Excellent sour flavor, with a light quality on the palate that just really works. Surprisingly high alcohol, I did not perceive it while drinking. Excellent in every way, and I would be fortunate to ever find it again.

Hazy golden color; the large head disappears quickly. The aroma is wonderful, cobwebs and dry citrusy fruits, grapefruit, an idea of tropical fruits, and cheese. Highly carbonated, smooth, with strong citrusy flavor, yellow fruit; mild cobwebs; acidity and astringency are moderate, almost mellow.
Huge balance and dynamism.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at The Stouts Tasting Part I, London - many thanks to Kenneth for this great palate cleanser! Pours lightly cloudy gold with a fine, white foam head. Proper tangy lemon aroma with good, rich funk to it. Very fresh flavor, light sweetness, light sweat, hay, lemon. Crazy carbonation here, pretty unique: at first it’s big and explosive, then it fades quickly to almost soft. Light to medium bodied. Clean finish with mellow lemony citrus tang, restrained funk. Excellent stuff. So fresh.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Palate cleanser at THE stout tasting - part 1, thanks to Ken. It pours clear golden yellow with a quickly dissipating medium white head. The nose is floral, hay, tartness, funk, lemon, orange and tangerine. The taste is spritzy, sherbet, tart tangerine, grapefruit, orange, lemonade and hay with a dry, tart finish. Medium body, effervescent carbonation and very well balanced. No acidity to speak of and hides alcohol very well indeed. Not particularly complex, but smooth, very drinkable and pretty delicious!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium sized lively and quickly changing white foamy head
Aromas of barn, wild yeast, rubber, farmhouse, (dried)herbs, cheese, some rope and wood.
Flavours of grapes, wild yeast, light tart, light funky, light cheese, some older malts, dried herbs and barn tones.
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, light tart, wild yeast, wood, light farmhouse/barn.
Low to medium carbo, creamy mouthfeel, full bodied and a light creamy light dry texture.
Tasted this almost a year ago and was close to champagne... Qua yeast and carbo, after almost a year of rest, this has become like a classic Lambiek, awesome in any way! Delicious!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL bottle, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma is wonderfully funky, with loads of lovely barnyard funk - man, everything about a gueuze I like. Flavour is huge on barnyard funk, light champagne yeast that gets more pronounced towards the end. Highly carbonated but not too much so, with a bone dry finish. Wonderfully complex, though slightly better aromatics than flavour. Excellent stuff.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice orange pour with a big white head. Really balanced aroma to this. Some vinous notes, grass and earthy funk, some mild must, tons of yeast, and a good green apple tartness. The flavor is quite dry and yeasty. Tons of must, some grass, a bit of oak, and lactic sourness. Very well done beer.
