Bottle shared by Travlr: pours an effervescent bright ruby with a large froth of pink head. Has a fresh fruity cherry nose with some light funk and vinous oak. Starts with good carbonation and smooth light malty sweetness with some sweet fruity notes and oaky complexity before a drier puckering finish. True to style and enjoyable.

Bottled. Pours clear red with a small pale pink head. Aroma of cherries, brett, horseblanket and caramel notes. Medium bodied, watery to oily texture and average carbonation. Slightly sour flavor that ends up dry and tart. A very nice Kriek.

Picked this up in Belgium last year. Enjoyed split 2 ways @ 40 Degrees F and allowed to warm.

A - Looks like a crimson / maroon red with a slightly red 4 finger head that fades to 1 finger and sticks around. Cork popped in a similar way to champagne.

S - The nose is nice. Sweet cherry pie, cloves, brown sugar, tart and oak with a bit of grape juice.

T - The taste is surprisingly very good. Reminds me a lot of better done back sweetened kriek Lambiek or just a sweeter version of Oud Beersel Kriek. Tart and sweet finish lingers for a while

M - Mouthfeel is huge, very champagne like it’s a nice explosion of flavor and very dense mouthfeel. Interesting

O - For the price I paid in Belgium, I may buy this again but at prices we see here in USA, it’s just not worth it.

1500 ml. bottle / magnum sampled @ Pure Apricot Tasting. A pricy affair. Thank you! Vibrant red, rich tad sweeter kriek real fruit expression with nice yoghurt sourness, very lively drink. Nice but not really worth it. Nice presentation but once again this is too much dough for presentation.

Magnum. Pours very nice dark pink with high frothy slightly pinkish/white head. Aroma is of lots of cherries, berries, sugar. Taste is of cherries, nice fruits, some acidity, sourness, funk, sweet. Palate: Light-medium body. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: Very serious kriek. Tasty, nice body (heavier that usual).

magnum shared by julienhuxley, thanks bro. pours hazy/cloudy bright red with a frothy purplish head demonstrating very good retention and lacing. fresh ripened cherries and its sassy-sweet meat, fresh cinnamon, light and well integrated acidity - blend of lactic, citric and closing with acetic notes in an almost american fashion, red wine, nicely astringent, grass and pepper. bright if not prickly champagne-like carbonation, light to medium body - feels just a tad heavy, sweetish and astringent zinfande-ish tart finish. very tasty - yet this concotion seemed more american than its american attemps on a kriek, ref. bullfrog le roar grrrz kriek. enjoyed!

From a magnum shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Pours a nice red with a medium "loose" (big bubbles) pink head that leave some lacing. Nose is just cherries. Taste is of cherries and fruit juice, a bit heavy but never too acidic at least. Body was medium, carbonation medium-high and spritzy. Overall a fine oude kriek.

Magnum. Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Slightly hazy bright red with a frothy diminishing off-white/pinkish head and little lacing. Aroma is of bright cherries (a ton!) with acetic presence, herbal notes and light spiciness. Taste is also dominated by cherries with a medium acetic presence, light spiciness and herbal notes. Medium/full body. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. The bright cherries are nice, but like the Oude Gueuze it’s quite heavy and it hinder the drinkability.
