Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Massive fruity nose to this. Smells and tastes like a basket of cherries. Crazy tart and sour. Pretty good for the style. Had this as a draft pour at the Saint Bock brewpub in Montreal.

37,5cl bottle @home. Pours red with a creamy pink head. Lively carbonation. Aroma is fruity, raspberries, bit sweetness. Taste has some raspberries, slight sour hint, but also an unpleasant taste I can’t define. Would’ve loved a more intense raspberry taste.

37,5cl bottle share, NachtvdGroteDorst 2014. Very much the Kinderframboos among all framboises: young, with overpowering raspberry fruitiness and fructose on the lieblich palate. Missed quite a few lambiek markers in here, like dryness, old hop funk, expressivity...somewhat reminiscent of Hanssens Oud Beitje in this respect, but even younger/unfinished as a blend.

Butelka 375ml. OCZY : piwo ma kolor wiśniowy. Piana jest mała o odcieniu jasnego różu. NOS : zapach jest podobny do gumy rozpuszczalnej o smaku malinowym. Można dodać aromaty podobne to tarty, siana, wiśni, jabłka i octu winnego. USTA : delikatnie musujące, puszyste o wodnistej konsystencji.

Decent lambic beer. Body of slightly sour and tardy lambic, with some nice sourish raspberries. Solid and good, but not as great as other lambics.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötliches Bier mit pinker Schaumkrone. Geruch süß nach Himbeeren, säuerlich. Geschmack startet säuerlich, fruchtig nach Himbeeren, ok!

UPDATED: APR 17, 2014 My expectations were high for this caged corked bottled beer and they were met. Nice pinkish pour. Tart fruity mouth watering aroma. Taste is not totally free and clear of beer bitterness but i must say, it is almost there. A great tart fruity flavor that sizzles across yer tongue. Not a single hint of cloying yet it is simultaneously sweet and tart. Yes, a very lovely example of what beer should be, except perhaps those hints of raspberries but I’m fine wit dat. Each swig is a happy melody of easy to take friendliness. Even tho I don’t detect hops in this stuff it is so nice. Even at the end, the couple of drops out of the bottle onto my tongue is so so yummy. Yes, I need more of this beldjiee beer, big enjoyable beer drinken experience. This stuff is soooooo gooooood! Simply refreshing!
