Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Shared a 375 mL bottle from Delheize (Luxembourg). Pours a dark reddish colour with not much head. Aroma is deeply red fruits. Medium carbonation and medium body. Flavour is sour with some fruits and a sort of medicine aftertaste. Overall, not bad but could be a better beer.

Det här var en fin sak med en behaglig smak av hallon och marsipan. Kroppen var något liten men balansen och de fina små bubblorna i kolsyran var förtjusande.

On tap at Ratebeer Gallery II. Oodles of raspberries without any real lambic sourness. The natural berry tartness is there however. Pretty much like drinking berries.

Deep reddish, fuschia... Aroma of raspberries, oak... Flavor is intensely raspberry, strawberry, kind of artificial tasting... Decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quite deep ruby, big pink head rises and fades quite quickly. Aroma is a nice tart raspberry. Taste is mild raspberry and mild tartness, not enough of either for my taste. Also has this strange medicinal aftertaste. Not my favorite framboise.

C&C 375 mL bottle from Beer Run, best by 21.06.2015. Pours a dark red-purple color with a frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Lots of dark floating particles. Aroma of raspberry jam, earth, pepper, mild tartness. The taste is raspberry jam, vegetal notes, caramel, mildly peppery finish, very mild tartness. Medium bodied, refreshing, tart but not sour in any way.
