COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/11/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge tart/juicy raspberries, fruit skin, green apple, cherry, light lemon, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, toasted oak, light leather/funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/juicy raspberries, fruit skin, green apple, cherry, light lemon, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, toasted oak, light leather/funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart raspberry, fruit skin, apple, cherry, hay, straw, toasted oak, light leather/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate oak barrel flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Some mild notes of oxidation in the aromas and flavors as well; but added some complimenting complexity to the overall profile. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, lightly crisp/creamy, and slightly acidic/tannic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent young fruit lambic style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate oak barrel flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

375 ml bottle. Clear, deep reddish body with a pale pink head. Aroma has raspberries, moderate acid and rather mild Brett funk. Flavor is both sweet and sour with acidic raspberries, lemon and fruit. Nice balanced body and sour raspberries aftertaste. Nice but not the best within the style, might need some more cellaring time this one?

Beautiful red syrup colour with a beautiful dense head. Looks like a cream soda. Aroma is freshly picked raspberries. Taste is a bit tart, quite natural.

On tap at the Barrel Cellar for Bills 40th. Pour is reddish-Amber with a small white head. Big buttery, raspberry skins, oaky, some wood, caramel, and tangy notes in the aroma. Taste is tannic, fruit skins, vinous, oaky, black pepper, some butter, jammy, and cheesy with a lightly sour finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Ok.

Raspberry aroma that was nice. Rest was just kind of syrup thick and cloying. No funk our tart.

Helder rood bier met schuim. Smaak is fris zuur en fruitig, framboos. Niet chemisch, best een geslaagd bier, maar ik heb betere gehad.
