Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Bottle from Pizza Port. This lambic poured a violent dark shade of red and only kept a head for a short moment in time. In the aroma, a drunk wino smell will be served with a sweet fruity background that will be displayed in the flavor as well. Pretty much the same thing written about the aroma can be said about the flavor too. I guess I shouldn’t of drank them back to back in order to have gotten the best results from the second offering.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Jerc and Mabel. Really nice aroma - sweet dark raspberries and malt - lovely. Neat dark brown in the glass, very little head. Good taste - nice malt base, strong raspberries, great fruit bitterness at the end. Very very good!!

On Tap Hamilton’s. Reddish pink hue and nice lambc skunky nose but the flavor was suprisingly balnced between tart and sweet. Very delicious and refreshing!

On tap at Hopleaf. Poured deep, fiery reddish-brown with a short pink-tinted beige head. The aroma was dry and musty (in a good way) with raspberry seeds and stems.. quite sweet and raspberry-focused, leaving a very nice impression. The flavor was focused on tart raspberries.. musty barnyard and vinegary notes accented well.. with a tart fruity finish.. quite tasty. Tart and sour on the palate with great fruit influence.. not as intense as Cantillon, for example, but well-executed.. drier and a touch grainy toward the finish.

On tap at Hop Leaf: Pours a clear red with a light pink head. Aroma, raspberries, some acidic funk to it. Flavor, tart, raspberries, a slight funkiness, and sourness, a little on the sweet side. Pretty solid.

Nice light sour funky aroma. Perfect description of this is that it’s like a mixture of a lindemans and a cantillon, with the sweetness maybe just edging out the funkiness.
