COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Bottle. Reddish with a light pinkish head. Nose is full of sour cherries and raspberry-seedy jam. Some vanilla, and a touch of funk. Overall a very berry-fruity aroma, that leans heavily towards darkish jammyness. Body is medium-light, funk more clearly present than in the aroma. Some malts, sour cherry, raspberry seeds. An ok, not too heavy nor too easy, framboise. I’m just more for enjoying funkiness with plain malts than with a fruit injection.

110513. Bottle at home. Pours deep amber with a pinkish head. Aroma raspberries. Lots of it. More like a fruit than a lambic. Way too juicy for my taste.

8oz draught. Beige head dissolves in a minute to a thin covering over a rust and coppery body which a direct backlight reveals is really a pleasing ruby red. Aroma is fresh red berries like raspberry and strawberry some being tart (as in not quite ripe) and fresh apple - really appetizing if you like tart fruit. Taste is salty with mild sweetness and sourness and mild bitterness. There is a not-too-subtle bitter finish. Palate is lively, fine carbonation like soda pop (not the taste - the feel). This is a very well-crafted beer.

bottled november, 2011. pours a deep dark plum hue with a tiny bubbled offwhite head. aroma of potent jammy raspberry and blackberry preserves. inviting. taste is vinous red grapes, sweet jam rasberries balanced by a light raspberry tartness. 3/10 on the old sour scale. jammy berry focused. nice enough.

375 ml. bottle. Rasberry aromas very prominent but also some yeasty notes. Pours dark red with no head. Low carbonation. Very tart, but the rasberries show through very well. Sour finish. Good lambic.

Smak och doft av hallon och toner av körsbär. Frisk och syrlig, lagom söt. Liten kropp med lätt beska.

375ml Bottle - Dark red, almost brown in colour. Musty, damp and fruity aroma with raspberries and cherries standing out. Fruity, tart and sweet taste with raspberries, cherried and jam being evident.

Artificial raspberry syrup dominates the aroma. Taste fortunately doesn't suffer the same fate: mildly tart, traces of fresh raspberries, kinda sweet though. No desire to see this again.

A very enjoyable fruity tart aroma, but the flavour just can’t match the wonderful intensity of the aroma. Still very enjoyable.

Ruby red colour, pinkish white head. Aroma of raspberries, syrup, sweet jam, citrus and funk. Sweet flavour, light wood, raspberry jam. Light astringent, finish wood and raspberry. Some yoghurt notes. Lingering sweetness combined with a lingering astringent mouthfeel.
