Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Bottle. Reddish with a light pinkish head. Nose is full of sour cherries and raspberry-seedy jam. Some vanilla, and a touch of funk. Overall a very berry-fruity aroma, that leans heavily towards darkish jammyness. Body is medium-light, funk more clearly present than in the aroma. Some malts, sour cherry, raspberry seeds. An ok, not too heavy nor too easy, framboise. I’m just more for enjoying funkiness with plain malts than with a fruit injection.

4oz draft at Churchkey’s Oud Beersel event. Mini snifter. Clear dark red with small ecru head. A: strong deep raspberry, mildly tart, some yeast, earth. T: raspberries, brighter with mild tart, oak, wet hey. Zesty. Decent, though not nearly enough funk.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Thanks DCLawyer! Clear ruby red with beige head. Aromas of berries and cherries. Tastes of cherries, berries, light tartness. Light body with a dry finish. Very tasty.

Bottle @ Elfo’s Pub, Perugia, Italy. Pours with a red clear beautiful colour, diminishing white head. Aroma is very rich in fruit notes, with some soury notes; very nice (if you like fruit). Taste is medium to heavy sweet, slightly to medium sour, very slightly bitter; nice. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.

Draught at Banksia, Cph. Lovely deep red colour with a thin, light pink head. Fruity aroma with raspberries, caramel malts, fruit juices and wheat malts. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with raspberries. Too sweet for an excellent Lambiek. Enjoyable, trough.

Piwo czerwone, lekko zmętnione. Piana szybko redukuje się do zera. W aromacie wyraźne maliny i kwaskowość. W smaku lekko kwaskowo, trochę słodkawo. Średnia pełnia, wysokie wysycenie. Przyjemne piwo.

A 0.375 l bottle that poured lightly hazy red to copper body with a tiny head atop. Nice and strong fresh raspberry aroma, just like the real, wild ones from Bosnia I had a couple hours before. Flavor was only lightly sour, fruity with raspberry, dried fruits, touch of apple vinegar and leather. Medium bodied with light sourness in the finish along with some sweetness, too. Lightly chalky there. Pleasant enough, well made, although, unlike the most I guess, I would appreciate harsher lambic character.

Draught @ Koelschip. Amber with a red glow and a pink, dense head. Solid aroma of raspberries and cellar. Flavour is raspberry sweet with only a little tartness. Lovely stuff and easy to forget it’s actually beer.

Bottled in late 2012. Funny they don’t mention more that they also ad 50g/l of cherries. Enormous thanks heavy, shared with him & some others. Clear red-amber body with a tiny white head which vanished immediately. Enormous raspberry, fresh aroma, jammy notes. Mild, light raspberry taste, some dried fruit, low tartness, a touch of tea. Quite interesting and more "pedestrian" than expected, but still a very good beer.
