3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
As soon as I started pouring I was struck by the raspberry jam aroma. It clued me in that this one wouldn’t be the sour lambic that I wanted but I can’t deny the appeal of such an aroma. The appearance was grand. All dark and stuff with one of those huge heads that makes a column in the middle and then collapses on himself. Alas, this is just a decently made but overly sweet raspberry soda lambic. I sort of like them but I don’t really find them satisfying. I can’t deny that there’s some good craftsmanship behind these things but whatever it’s boring.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Corked bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Bright red with a thin pink-white head. It has a sweet raspberry flavour with malty, earthy and musty notes followed by more tart raspberry, cherry and yoghurt notes on the smooth, fruity finish. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
375ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark red with lots of floaties and a small, short lived, off-white, fizzy head that leaves spotty lacing. Sour, fruity aroma of raspberry and cherry. Sweet, fruity flavour of raspberry and wheat with a dry, tart, acidic finish. Light body with a watery texture and lively carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 330ml at Lafayette Music Bar, Ostend, West Flanders, Belgium. Ruby red with pink head. I cannot believe that I hadn’t rated this before, there is a real, fresh raspberry flavour to this, juicy with a tart, slightly acidic background. There is a balancing sweetness too. Pretty decent for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear ruby red with a foamy off white head. As someone who grow up picking raspberries the smell is instant nostalgia. Potent raspberry, lots of brown sugar, brown butter. It smells like a baked raspberry tart. On the palate, the body feels thinner than I expected but has fresh, fruity, raspberry finish. Oud Beersel Framboise lacks the complexity and sourness that I look for in a lambic. Not my favorite raspberry lambic, but enjoyable nonetheless.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beautiful dark red color with light red hue, small head, gentle carbo. A: light sour, big raspberry sweetness, white sugar. Reminds of soft drink. T: very nice medium sharp sourness. Geuze maltiness dominates, with a perfect fruity undertone of red fruits, mostly raspberry, strawberry. With the glass half empty, the aroma becomes more like a true Geuze instead of soft drink earlier. Finish is quite dry with a mellow malt y bitterness, strawberry notes.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
37,5cl bottle from Geers. Pours dark red, ruby. Nearly no head. Nose of raspberries, cherries, port wine maybe. Fruity flavour, but a bit thin-bodied, could use some extra tartness/vinousness. But very palatable balanced fruit lambic.
