COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

375ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours deep, hazy red with minimal pink head. Lovely sugary raspberry aroma. Taste doesn’t quite match with faded raspberries and a subtle sourness.

Tap at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is deep red with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Berries, raspberries and sweetness. Very juicy, in fact too juicy for me.

ninecats (299) - Uddevalla, SWEDEN - APR 26, 2015
Sample at En Öl- & Whiskymässa, Gothenburg, April, 2015. Deep hazy red, small pink head. Bose is massive raspberries, both fresh and old, hints if funk, vanilla and oak. Taste is fairly sweet with sour notes, again lots of raspberries, lightly woodiness, semi sweet/sour/dry finish. Light body, close to zero carbo. Very drinkable, uncomplicated.

SlackerMads (2016) - DENMARK - APR 6, 2015
Bottle. Clear deep red with a medium sized pink head. Nose is pure raspberry. Flavour also has raspberry and little else. Seems a bit simple, perhaps some almond in there too and a hint of funk if I look for it, but otherwise raspberry. Light body, hardly any sourness, mild sweet. Feels somewhat thin and fizzy. Mild sweet finish.

Maakun (1289) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2015
UPDATED: APR 25, 2015 Bottle at home. Reddish brown with short lasting greyish head. Leaves, rotten fruit, funk, cheese, more rotten and mold, moldy bread. Very thin light sour taste. Thin bodied with low carbonation. Wow, this is not good at all. Something must have gone very wrong here, can’t believe its supposed to be this way. Will update when I have it again. &&&&&&&&& update. Another bottle from the same batch. Moldy again. Not as horrible as the other bottle as here there is actually some raspberry taste now, but still very bad.

Bottle from Erzbierschop Black Rider, Zurich. Deep purple with a lively pinkish head. Intense raspberry aroma. Nicely balanced raspberry flavours, not too sweet or sour, some oakiness mellowing the fruit. Complex.

Fukito (891) - Sao Paulo, BRAZIL - MAR 7, 2015
Pours an opaque red rose color with a small diminishing rose head. Aroma is of lemons and some barnyard and mustard. Flavor is vinegary lemon with some red fruits and a slight balsamic finish. Light to medium palate. Complex but yet approachable

UXO (710) - CANADA - MAR 1, 2015
Pours cloudy red with one finger of loose light pink head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, no lacing. (4/5) Nose is strong raspberries, sour cherries, mild funk. (8/10) Taste is very low sweet, mild bitter, moderate sour. (9/10) Light body, moderate carbonation, dry tart finish. (4/5) That’s a heckuva nice fruit lambic. It initially smells like raspberry jam and the expectation is that it’ll be sweet - but it’s not, at all. Excellent fruit flavour and very mild sweetness gradually gives way to a traditional tart lambic character. Better than the framboises by Lindemans or Mort Subite, and comparable to the Boon - though definitely a bit short of the high water mark set by Cantillon. (17/20)

kwik-lime (1461) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2015
Pours deep pink-red with a pink head. Acidic, champagne-like taste at first then gives way to a sweet raspberry body and finally a slightly sour finish. Complex and enjoyable beer.
