Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Great lambic, lemon yeast aroma, the initial sour notes then get cleaned up by a fruity finish . A fine gueuze .

Foam: two finger white sustaining foamy head Colour: hazy yellow to orange Aroma: sharp citrus slightly winey, slightly sweet, a bit of sour and a bit underscore of earthiness Taste: very lively carbonation, medium body, sour with the tart fruity, woody sweetness with a little astringency like grapefruit or pompelmous, fresh green apples, acidic barnyard, dry and with the lemon tartness, it seems like sparkling wine, very tasty and refresh for hot summer days, great beer

hazy orange colour, 1 inch creamy, long lasting white head; aroma of lemon, earthy-woody notes - like a wine cellar; taste is like a BRUT champagne with the bitterness of hops and sourness; excellent geuze

Back of the bottle reads 14/03/2034. This was poured into a stange. The appearance was a hazy yellow color with a two finger white sustaining foamy head. Stringy lacing slides down the glass nicely. The smell had a sharp citrus slightly bitter, slightly sweet, decent amount of sour and a super light underscore of earthiness. The taste was mainly sour but a good sour with the tart there as well. Earthy and somewhat woody sweetness runs into the aftertaste and leaves a quick finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a great sessionability about it. This would be great on a hot Summer’s day as there’s a nice refreshing quality about it, not as dry as I thought it would be. Overall, I say this was a wonderful beer as I would definitely have again.

2011 bottle. Pours a very effervescent gold. Brilliant. Big white head that falls quickly. Peachy lemony aroma. Some earthy notes and slight funk. Taste is mildly funky. Not much sour. Slight earth. Light lemon tartness.

Pour is slightly hazed golden yellow with a tight white head. Nose has a light saltiness, moderate mineral presence, faint lime juice and lemon. Flavor is very minerally up front bordering on sulfur, juicy lemon and citric acid, fairly acidic finish. Moderate to soft carb, light delicate body.
