3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Emeister84 (437) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Aromas of satsumas, crab apples, surface-ripened cheese, floral handsoap, and cedar sawdust. Hazy yellow-orange with somewhat lasting, white head. Sour, acidic, and bitter. Light-medium body, lively carbonation, and a finish including dry, sour apple, grapefruit, and lemon peel.

Sampled at the W&C Ballas open house. It poured a hazy golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma was strong with notes of tart fruit and yeast. The taste was yeasty, almost wheaty in body with a tartness that starts mid swallow and carries into the finish. Good stuff.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheJvd (170) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet with some citrus, wood and brett. Taste is also quite sweet with some citrus, brett and a bit musty. Nice beer, but not quite sour enough for a geuze.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JLLSU (238) - Acworth, Georgia, USA - FEB 28, 2013
12.7oz corked/caged bottle---->tulip. Pours a bright straw with almost no head (I wonder if something was wrong with this bottle based on other reviews and the cork didn’t pop very much). Aroma is pretty strong funk and some lemony citrus. Taste follows aroma with a good deal of leather thrown in. Pretty tart and funky. Pretty thin on the tongue with very little carbonation, but again, I’m not sure this bottle was right. Fairly middle of the road for the style.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pyrmir (1208) - Westra Aros, SWEDEN - FEB 18, 2013
Bottle, rated from old tasting notes. Aroma complex, tropical fruits, floral notes and citrus. Taste is dry with a little sweetness
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PhillyCraft (1970) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 14, 2013
Bottle 12.7 oz. pours hazy gold with massive white head, awesome lasting power along with nice soapy lacing. Tons of carbonation. Aromas of lemons, wood, colt blanket, and other funks. Taste is lemons, oxidation, penny, woody hops, and funk. I hate the way this finishes with a coppery aftertaste. The aroma was nice but flavor Is lacking if you’ve ever had a Cantillon or 3font gueuze. Just ok, I would take a girardin or tilquin over this as far as cost is concerned. Lacks character and complexity.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jookos (761) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 13, 2013
Bottle. Yellow, hazy. Strong funkish hay on nose. Malts, a bit of greeny hops. Body is a tad acidic, quite hoppy actually. Hay, funk. Really nice beer, but not the best of old guezes. A lot of hops, a bit young, it feels.

Pleasant aroma, taste and palate, but I’m not thrilled. [short review due to it coming from my backlog]
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thomas15 (521) - USA - FEB 11, 2013
Typical oude gueuze aroma, stanky, horse blanket, some sweetness, lemon. Semi opaque gold with rocky two finger head. Lightly sour, more on the tart side with some sweetness. Very refreshing, but lacking in depth and complexity.
