Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Golden color with big white head. Nice funk and hay, lemony apples and good wood. The sourness is very balanced. Still easily drinkable. A great Gueuze.

Poured into a teku showing deep golden honey yellow with about two fingers of clean white foam. Hazy & cloudy, practically opaque. The nose shows a lot of sour brett with some heavy notes of barnyard and wet hay. The palate is highly carbonated and very light bodied. The first impression immediately shows a good but moderate tartness with strong barnyard & horse blanket flavors. Somewhat pickled/sauerkraut-like flavors in the mid palate with a return to the tartness on the finish. Drinks clean and easy.

375cc bottle. Beautiful hazy almost glowing orange with white champagne like head. Lovely noose, really fruity. Sour beer is not my type, but getting passed the sourness it reveals nice acidity. Finishes dry and crispy.

37,5cl bottle. Pours an unclear, yellow amber with a small white head.. Aroma has lemon, leather, citrus peel, funk, "autocitron". Pretty sour. Taste is acidic, lactic sour, but with apple-sweet notes. Dry leather, tart, bitter-sour end. Medium high sourness overall. High carb and crisp body.

Taste is medium low acidity, crisp palate with some dusty barn wood, green apple, hayfield, weed, cheesy funk. Finishes dry with a tiny hint of apple fruit sweetness, old attic, tart. Nice solid gueuze.
