Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Bottle. Light hazy golden with a medium sized diminishing white head. Leather, dusty, hay, fruit stack, oak. Medium body, oily texture, high carbonation, light/medium sweet and sour. It builds up, but falls a bit flat with a thin, fizzy and sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy light amber with sediments and small white head. Clear aroma of peaches and malt, with vinous and estery notes. Vinous and dusty flavour, with notes of yeast. Bitter and sourish aftertaste. Very soft carbonation. Very decent, indeed.

Percepisco che è una birra speciale, ma decisamente troppo acida per i miei gusti. A chi invece l’acido non dispiace, la consiglio decisamente

1- nutty with notes of honey, spicy brett character 2- light orange, some haze, quickly dissipating white head 3- A mellow sourness with a sweet tart flavor on the side of the tongue 4- light body with low carbonation, some slight astringency 5- 2002 bottle from my cellar, a wonderful beer that seems to have mellowed with age. The nutty and honey notes were a nice surprise.

Pours an orange-golden color, with a decent froth, white head, which stays for an unusual long time, for this being still a gueuze. Funky barnyard aromas, along with leather and lovely, floral hints define the nose. Dough, slick yeast gets coated up by a gentle, mild lactic acidity and oak, which leads to a very smooth mouthfeel. Hints of lemon peel and unripe apple reveal themselves as the beer warms up, leading to a moderate dry aftertaste. My girlfriend said, this finally tastes like an actual beer, due to the relatively mild tartness of this Gueuze. This beer is very enjoyable, as it is outstanding well balanced. It opens up a different angle on Gueuzes, as being gentle on the palate, without the usual aggressive tartness, still it contains an enjoyable complexity.
