COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2014 No sweet not to mouch sour. Well balanced gueuze with it’s caracteristic cider/sparkling wine taste. Some lemon and grape. Good one!!

"Not feeling this one as a 99th percentile beer, though it was enjoyed. Lemony aroma and tartness with some stinky cheese and a touch of green olive and hay. Carbonation a bit sharp. Probably textbook for the style, but just good IMO."

Bottle 2011 vintage. Golden pour with fizzy white head. Aroma is funky, sour, and sweaty. Taste is sour up front , crisp and lively carbonation, light funk, tart, with a bone dry finish. Tasty business.

375 ml bottle @ Cafe Derat, Utrecht.
Orange clear beer with white head. Aroma is citrusy crisp and sour with some barnyard. Flavor is sour, citrusy crisp, yeasty and peachy fruity. Thinner than medium palate with strong foamy carbonation. Finishes with a bite of bitterness and crisp sourness. Adding the yeast turns the beer hazy, adds sourness and tones down crispness. Very refreshing, not too vinegarish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow, tiny white head and sparkling. Aroma is apply, some stall and a bit leather. Good blend of the different brett characteristics. Taste is sour and acid apples. Really soft carbonation that makes it really drinkable. Finish is coating tart.

(Cuvée 2007): Exubérance verdoyante, chlorophylle, menthe, foin humide dans un liquide affolé mais cohérent. Acidité adéquate, une touche acétique et lactique, équilibre incroyable considérant l’age.

2006 bottle thanks to Rick. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head. The aroma is strong wood, funk, and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with strong wood, funk, light tartness. Good.
