COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Pours hazy yellow with a white, dissipating head. Sour, yet fruity nose. Tangy, sour fruitiness with hints of orange, some yeast. Refreshing arrival, and a dry finish. Respectable geuze.

Golden orange, lasting head. A: medium tartness, light basement funk, sour apple and cider note, faintest cherry note. T: perfect mix of tartness and malt character. Dry mouthfeel, some white wine notes in development. Dry finish with sour fruity tones.

Bottle @ deTolly, Tartu. Pours slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma: sour, sulphur, dry cow shit, malty. hay. Taste: heavy sour. dry hay, sulphur, acid, raw apple peal. Thin + body. Sour finish. Really nice.

2012 Vieille. Yellow with proper head. Aroma is old cellar, some rotten apples, light dung. Taste is very dry, sourish, rotten apple, wood, dry wood, oak, strong bitterness. Very good - better than regular version.

At home, 2014 37.5cl bottle. Pour: Light, golden, fuzzy clear. Medium foam, relatively low carbonation. Smell: Fresh, mild, hint of citrus. Intial taste: Fresh, sharp, mild, well rounded, slight malty. Low acidity. Short lived taste. Bit watery to be honest. After airing - First: sweet lemon, acid; mids: fresh, sharp ; after: slight bitterness, tart Verdict: Very good, well rounded! Opens up really well after airing.

Bottle. Pours in hazy yellow amber body with medium frothy head. Aroma has acidic character upfront with tart notes, cheese, little bit grassy and citrus. Taste has strong acidic kick upfront with tart character, citrus, apple, little bit of tropical fruit too. Dry palate. Body is full, high carbonation. Very good.
