Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Pours hazy yellow with a white, dissipating head. Sour, yet fruity nose. Tangy, sour fruitiness with hints of orange, some yeast. Refreshing arrival, and a dry finish. Respectable geuze.

Pours a slightly hazy pale amber to golden body. The white head is long-lived and never gets smaller than a thin layer. Crisp, dry, slightly funky and strong aroma of sparkling (white) wine, tart fruits, apples and hints of oak and fermented fruits in the back. Quite strong flavour of sparkling wine and acidic and tart fruits, with wood, fermented apples, citrus and faint barnyard in the back. Light, very dry and lively carbonated. Very nice.

COlore dorato torbido, schiuma esagerata. Odore acido, fruttatissimo, pungente, ricorda lo spumante. Sapore acido, molto frizzante, tipo spumante, secco, fruttato. Non è il mio genere preferito.

Golden color with big white head. Nice funk and hay, lemony apples and good wood. The sourness is very balanced. Still easily drinkable. A great Gueuze.

Poured into a teku showing deep golden honey yellow with about two fingers of clean white foam. Hazy & cloudy, practically opaque. The nose shows a lot of sour brett with some heavy notes of barnyard and wet hay. The palate is highly carbonated and very light bodied. The first impression immediately shows a good but moderate tartness with strong barnyard & horse blanket flavors. Somewhat pickled/sauerkraut-like flavors in the mid palate with a return to the tartness on the finish. Drinks clean and easy.
