Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

Bottled. Pale w/ yeast clumps, fiizzy. Very interesting nose follow by a very off putting fucked up "who pissed beer into my" champagne flavor. Palate had some lingers of that cool foreign nose... but this beers really not for me.

Schwieriges Bier. MHD 2034!

Dry, light gold, sour, effervescent carbonation, some pungent mouthfeel. Lightly malty with some fruit and yeast from the bottle conditioning.

Hazy golden colour. Taste is sour hints of grapes and citrus. Combining nicely with dark chocolate cake.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy golden with fizzy white head that leaves a nice film of tiny bubbles. Sour grapes, light fresh green leaves, funk, dank basement, lemon, light herbs and fresh cut wood. Over medium sour and light bitter. Medium bodied with very fizzy carbonation. Very pleasant thought a bit unrifined gueuze.

(Oud Beersel Oude Geuze) Bottle 750 ml at home, served into a big tulip, ABV 6% Deep orange colour on the body, with a big and thin white head on top. Average retention. Nice aroma, grapes, old wood, light apples and funkiness. Taste is great, light sourness and grapes, grass, wood. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Very good.

375 ml bottle. Clear amber body topped by a tight lasting white head. Moderate carbonation. Lemon zest, barnyard funk, vinegar and flowers on the nose. Brightly sour taste with a lemon hit and champagne like flavours. The champagne theme continues in the mouthfeel. Sour fruity aftertaste. Excellent example of the style.

On tap. Little white head. Clear golden color. Brett, rum, white wine, dusty aromas. Flavor of grapes and lemon. Dry finish. Sour. Overall: nice lambic. But maybe with some complexity will be better.

Helder lichtgeel bier met veel schuim. Smaak is friszuur, droog met fruitig frisse druiven.
