2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 slang (654) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - MAY 31, 2007Bottled. Pale w/ yeast clumps, fiizzy. Very interesting nose follow by a very off putting fucked up "who pissed beer into my" champagne flavor. Palate had some lingers of that cool foreign nose... but this beers really not for me.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 weihenweizen (1197) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JUN 17, 2013
Refrigerated 12.7 oz. green bottle corked and capped poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a slight haze and small white head. Little lacing, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and tart aroma. Taste is tart, fruity, oak, and dry finish. I prefer drie fonteinen oude geuze.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jimlovesbeer (12) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 11, 2013
1st try of a Geuze. Nose like a lager. Smell the funkiness, but it is not off-putting. Nice, tart taste. Supposedly hoppy compared to other Belgian beers, but not overly hoppy like a pale ale. Nice tiny bubbles that lead to a prolonged white head.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 mathieuc (323) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 3, 2013
Pours a clear golden with a thin but tenacious white head. Aroma is classic gueuze: wet hay, leather. Taste is less dry than expected with a little too much residual sugar. Flavors are great, fruity and sour but no acetic acid to be found. Mouthfeel is great also with a high carbonation level making it go down smoothly without being agressive. A really nice and soft gueuze!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rodenbach99 (2548) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 2, 2013
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 zacgillbanks (1022) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy yellow-golden beer pours with a huge foam head. It has sour apple and bitter citrus flavours, earthy notes and biscuit on the extremely dry fruity finish.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heavy (1989) - Split, CROATIA - MAY 27, 2013
16/04 A 0.375 l bottle, courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! It poured hazy golden body with big head. Sour vinegar and salty aroma, dusty. Flavor was quite similar, sour and salty with some weak barrel notes. Very empty, watery, dull and boring. Don’t get what people see in it, while I usually like lambics, I found this completely uninteresting and characterless. Add a wrong place in tasting sequence for such a light beer and bingo - a disaster. Might rerate once...
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ludvig (74) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 23, 2013
well over all a ok geuze, easy to find and is good for a standard geuze although its a bit bland...
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - MAY 17, 2013
375 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/13/2032. Pours moderately cloudy golden straw color with a 2-3 finger fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big sour apple, pear, lemon, grape, clove, pepper, oak, hay, grass, leather, funk, white vinegar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of estery/funky yeast notes with barrel character. Taste of tart apple, lemon, pear, grape, clove, pepper, oak, hay, grass, leather, light vinegar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Moderate fruity/spicy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, clove, pepper, hay, oak, grass, leather, light vinegar, and earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/funky ester flavors with moderate barrel character; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very crisp, dry, moderately prickly, and slightly acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Gueuze. All around nice complexity and balance of flavors; and very smooth to sip on even with high carbonation. A very enjoyable offering.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wlajwl (2984) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Aroma is strong tartness/sourness, fruit (possibly cherries) and a hint of wheat. The flavor is sharp tartness, citrus, grainy texture and a mix of mild sweetness and lingering sour notes.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 morri (83) - NORWAY - MAY 16, 2013
375ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Huge white head which becomes very fluffy. Hazy, dark yellow body. Sharp aroma dominated by apples and iron. Long lasting dry finish. To me this feels more like a wine than a beer.
