Jaha, då är det alltså då att man blivit lite nördig. För ett år sedan hade jag sagt att detta inte är öl. Nu gillar jag den friska syrliga smaken riktigt bra!!

If only this had been the first kriek beer I ever tried. This is cherries, pure and simple, and being a farm girl, I know what I’m talking about. Nothing of that sticky sweet lemonade-like stuf that leaves you wanting to rinse your mouth. This is a kriek that shows you where it got its name from. Pour gently, or you’ll have a pale pink head that’s bigger than the body, and you’ll be waiting a long time before it starts to recede. You smell sour cherries, and you taste sour cherries, but this was what you expected, and exactly what the beer delivers. Pleasant carbonation, quite a dry finish, totally different from most of the "commercial" kriek beers. I am so glad the people at d’Afspraak in Mechelen recommended this one, or I might never have tried another kriek.

Nice, darkred kriek and a darkpink foamy head. A subtile aroma wich is slightly sour. The carbon dioxide is a bit rush on the tongue. In first instance, it tastes slightly sour but soon becomes a bit bitter. The aftertaste is also slightly bitter.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2013 Bottle at home. "Best By 10.03.2030" Clear bright red, with a chunky pink head. The aroma is sweet cherries, vinegar, Brett, cheese, funk. Brett flavors dominate, with leather, citrus, earth, and vinegar. Not much cherry comes through. Vinous, thin, tart finish.

Acidula e fruttata in bocca.

Bottle at home from drinkstore Dark hazy crimson with scarlet tinged fluffy cream head. Quite subdued lemon sherbet battery acid nose, tingly carbonation, medium body. sharp citric, some spearmint, dry cherry stone character, touch of cheesy hop and juicy sharp cherry flesh long tart full finish. It stands up well against others but lacking in the funk for me.

Perhaps consumed to young, but this didn’t really do it for me. Funky, lots of cherry, but a bit stunted in taste. Doesn’t really project beyond the mid palate and finishes too dry. Tart and funky.

375----> tulip. Pours a dark ruby with an fizzy pink head and no lace. Smells of light sour cherry and some funk. Taste is a full on sour cherry assault with some raspberry mixed in. Very dry and bubbly on the tongue. Pretty damned good for a style that isn’t very impressive to begin with.

Pours ruby red color with a small pink head. Aroma of berries, some juicy fruits, sugary notes, yeast and grass. Flavor of berries, fruits, yeast and some goose berries. Very nice.
