Extremely sour. Once the initial shock subsides, there are cherries and cranberries at midpalate. Almost undrinkably sour with a horridly off smell. I can appreciate a good sour beer, but this just didn’t taste good. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Vigorous pour gets me a a deep red colored beer with big fluffy pink foam that slowly fades to a thin layer. Aroma is cherry pits, oak and funk, just how I like it. Flavor is a little out of whack, real big on the cherry pie filling, then fades into a strange starchy flavor that’s a little metallic. Good but not great. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel

Deep red with a pinkish head. Aroma of sour cherries. Dry sour flavor with cherries and some oak. A lively carbonation that creates a very nice mouthfeel. BonVoeux (40), Beveren-Leie, Belgium

The aroma has notes of barnyard and hints of cherries. The flavour is sour, but refreshing, and it has notes of barnyard and hints of cherries. I would have liked the cherries to be more dominant and the barnyard to be less pronounced. BMan1113VR (2814), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Let me start off by saying that I am not the biggest fan of most lambics (faro’s seem to be an exception). Smells of lambic yeast with some cherries far in the back. Pours with a large, pink head covering a muddy, bright red body. Good retention. Extremly sour and tart, but lambics aren’t my thing. Mouthpuckering describes the mouthfeel. My girlfriend liked it, I did not. thewolf (5722), Kolding, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Wohlenbergs, Sønderborg. [My 400th Belgian rating] Pours a wonderful deep, dark red. A rather large bubbly and fizzy pink head. Aroma has lots of barnyard, cherries, tartness and brett. Some oranges, light touch of vanilla and a bit of vinegar as well. Medium carbonation - relatively full mouthfeel. Flavour is very, very tart, lots of berries. A distant touch of dark roasted caramel, nuts and tobacco. Long lingering tart finish with lots of nice berries. This is a seriously nice lambic!
