JohnnyJ (1282), Carlsbad, California, USA Dec 20, 2007 Pours a bright red with pink head. Strong tart cherries. Hints of bread and funk. Dominated by sweet cherries and some oak. Tart body with sweet light cherry flavor. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA Dec 12, 2007 ruby with a light pink head. sour acidic aroma with a wine-like fruitiness and underlying mustiness. smooth and spritzy mouth feel. sour tart cherries and grapes with a light wet woodiness to it. very well made, finally a kriek thats not overly sweet nahthan (129), Oakland, California, USA Dec 9, 2007 Pleasant red color with a super carbonated head that dissipates quickly. Normally I would shy away from kriek, as it’s usually too sweet for me, but this one is awesome. The second fermentation of the sugars provided by the fruit and the aging makes this a much drier fruit lambic than most. Aroma is wet horse blanket barnyard. Medium to high Acidity, moderate sourness. Best fruit lambic I’ve tasted. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2007 Updated: Dec 23, 2007Pours a dark ruby red with huge foamy pink head. Very sweet Aroma of dark cherries with lots of sourness and a slight hint of roasted nut. Very tart/sour lambic taste with a sweet dark cherry balance. Very acicidic with a touch of oak in the aftertaste. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Nov 18, 2007 Pours a brownish-ruby color. Smells of cherries and the typical lambic funk. Smells very tart and makes your mouth pucker prior to tasting. Taste is very sweet, acidic, and fruity. Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Nov 18, 2007 (Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 Nov 2007) Deep red colour with frothy, pink head. Fruity, tart nose with distinct notes of cherries, horse blanket and stable. Fruity, tart taste with strained cherry notes. Lovely balance between fruit and acidity. Great beer. (And I do believe it was brewed by the recently resurrected Oude Beersel brewery) Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Nov 18, 2007 Updated: Nov 19, 2007Pours a light ruby color with slight pink head. Aroma is of yeasty funk, charred oak, horse blanket and cherries. Taste is the same but more astringent. Everything melds well with this beer, excellent!
