Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Sep 2, 2009 750 ml bottle. An unclear deep red beer with a large, frothy, mostly diminishing pink head. The aroma is nice, though not extremely powerful, with a good yeastiness, light maltiness and notes of cherry and wood. The flavour is moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Quite fruity and funky. Medium body, lively carbonation. quite long finish with light to medium bitterness. Fruity and balanced, a good fruit lambic Jayb0 (750), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Aug 25, 2009 Quite tart, maybe to a fault. But still fairly decent with good cherry presence and a balancing sweetness. smcolw (314), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA Aug 23, 2009 Impressive starting head, dies to thin layer of foam. Leaves no lace. The color is orange-red and properly cloudy
Cherry sweet and lambic sour. The sweet wins this one, coming across like a pie. A lot like hard candy.
Remarkably tart. Where’s the sweetness? Reminds me of unripe raspberries. There’s a complete absence of sweetness. It also is missing the yeast bite that I’ve come to expect. Great body with an elevated amount of carbonation. This might be a good match to cheese or a sweet dessert. mjs (1446), Helsinki, Finland Aug 20, 2009 (Bottle at St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki, on 2009-08-19) Red and cloudy. Quite large and a moment lasting pink head. Very strongly cherries and some sourness in aroma. Medium bodied and dryish palate with medium carbonation. Cherries, berries, sourness, sweetness, bitterness, wood, malts and fruitiness in taste. Cherries and wood in aftertaste. MrGGen (221), Italy Jul 26, 2009 Dove proprio andare in Belgio per rifarmi un’opinione sulle lambic, che finora non avevo particolarmente a cuore.
Anche questa Oude Kriek ha contribuito.
Colore rosso-ciliegia profondo, buona schiuma compatta e persistente.Aroma fortemente acido,di ciliegia e noccioli di ciliegia. In bocca è forte e aggressiva, acida e secca, fruttata.Finale astringente.Più che buona! Snojerk321 (1918), San Diego, California, USA Jul 26, 2009 Bottle @ Stone Sour Fest 2009. Pours a deep cherry-red color nice head: compact, and strawberry ice-cream color. As for the aroma,a classic kriek nose of almonds, and of course cherry, feels very natural. Flavor is at first dry, then sour a very satisfying finish. Paulp (20), New Jersey, USA Jul 21, 2009 Bottle pinkish, red color high carbonation with a tart, cherry like aroma. sour tasting, definitely something different, but pretty good. andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Jul 18, 2009 Lovely genuine cherry flavours all over this. Sharp with a subtle round cherry skin flavour, good mild acidity but not especially funky. Deep woody notes aswell.
