pumpmaster (474), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA Nov 10, 2007 12.7 ounce bottle purchased at Knighty Spirits in Orlando, FL for aprox. $4.50 Very good TheEpeeist (1430), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2007 12.7 oz bottle, BB 2024. Clear garnet with a sustaining pink white haze. Sour, funky, candied lemon peel fades into tart cherries. Taste about the same with lemon zest sourdough then cherries and pits; leaves your mouth watering. Body feels like a cider until the wonderfully soft but tongue-tickling carb kicks in. Well executed simplicity. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Nov 2, 2007 $6 12oz? bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Best before Jan 14, 2026. (Don’t drink on Jan 15th, 2026!) Left in the freezer too long, and the wire cage snapped, and cork came off. Started to ooze out of the bottle, then the liquid froze on the top forming a natural cap. Removed the ice cap, and poured into my glass. About a third of the liquid came out, the rest was frozen. Big frothy small/medium bubble head, that dies to small wisps on the surface. Nice deep cloudy red color. Nice sour cherry pie aroma. Some musty basement. Very nice to smell. The cherry seems to overpower the subtly funky sour aromas. Great aroma. Taste has a nice tart cherry bite, but low cherry sweetness. A little citrus zing to the finish. Very flavor charged. Easy to drink slowly. All that flavor wants a mild cheese accompanyment, but also great on it’s own. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2007 Pours luminous and red, so glassy as to seem filtered, with a rose-tinted white head. Brilliantly pure lambic aroma of pressed cherry juice, horseblanket and wet leather, pungent and pulsing warmly with blue cheese. It presents itself somewhat coldly when tasted; distant, mild, and lilting. Prominent tones are flower petals, aired out cherry pits, and minerals; tainted with an especially odd chlorine flourish within a disposition that’s altogether too clean. Swiftly dry with apple cider, warm fruit, and some emasculated funk. Lemon juice and softly medicinal suggestions before the finish; the yeast presence is strange. Light bodied, relaxed and unimposing in the mouth, so much so that it seems almost trite. Bland cherry sweetness at the end. Sadly quieted and simply too cautious, lacking the wild nuances and bold character that makes lambic so exciting and alive. Stew41 (1042), Caulfield, Australia Nov 1, 2007 October 2004 bottle
Tart aging fruits, definately showing some early development. Dulling nose with a hint of bitterness. Mid palate shows a yeasty Champagne-like character that carries through to the finish. Hard to assess right now given the primary fruit is fading but structurally very sound. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 31, 2007 beautiful clear pink amber with a great lite pink head that slowly dissapears. aroma funky sour cherry. very deep very complex....vanilla hints of apple maybe...my discription doesnt do it justice. very tart dry sour cherry flavor with a with a lovely sweet vanilla backdrop and just a hint of funk. tart sour very dry cherry finish with a hint of vanilla. medium body with a great lively mouthfeel. overall just a great beer. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle sampled.Pours cherry red with a light pink head. Tart aroma of sour cherries, oak, and sweet malt. Flavor is very dry and tart with sweet and sour cherries and a dry finish. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2007 Pours like a light sugar free cherry soda, fruit and vinegar on the nose, sour tart on the touge with some cherry that comes out in the finish. Tasty beer, I am enjoying it a lot.
