StumpMe (30), Bellingham, USA Jun 2, 2007 I had this one on tap at Brouwers in Seattle for their Belgian Beer month. Aroma is black cherry. Medium head retention with light lacing throughout. Medium body and dark crimson in color. Tastes like sour/tart cherry candy. Nice and refreshing for the style. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA May 13, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark ruby, raspberry hued head. Aroma is cherry, funky, musty, tangy bleu cheese, sour dough. Flavor is funky, musty, tangy bleu cheese, tart cherries and pie crust. This is a nice blend that is not too sweet. Adenila (931), Denmark May 13, 2007 Beautifull red look with a bubbling pink head. Overall very refreshing and easy to enjoy. Strong cherry nose with notes of vanilla. Flavor has a balanced acidic profile that isnt too much, but still makes you enjoy the brew in small zips. I could do with more tartness, but this one is a nice kriek as an introduction to the style. Bartzilla (441), San Diego, California, USA May 11, 2007 Thanks to my pal, WeeHeavySD, I was able to share this gem with another fine pal, Naven. Pours just like that picture there on the left, except my flutes weren’t actually sanctioned kriek flute, but rather rehashed glasses from beer festivals of lore. Very sour. Love it. Hits hard and finishes dry. Not quite as sour as the 3 Fonteinen, but definitely carries a nice flavor that I’ll be seeking out again. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 5, 2007 375ml bottle. Via trade with Biggcb thank you. Pousr Peach colored with a thin 1 finger bright white head. Aroma is big and cherry filled. The taste is sweet and sour and pungent and strong and full of cherry goodness. Reminds me of draft Lou Pepe Kriek. Very Tart and very nice. This is a serious kriek not to be missed. Hazy deep red colour with pink head. Sour farmyard, horse blankety aroma. then cherries kick in. Really decent cherry fruit. Really sour finish. reakt (938), Greater London, England Apr 19, 2007 Updated: Sep 1, 2007bottle from uto. Forced to rate, so I’m keeping it short. It’s sub-par in comparison to the 3 Fonteinen and De Cam. Deep burgundy in colour with pink head. Nose is spot on - full aroma of tart cherries and light alcohol. The taste is the let down - a nice pucker start quickly fizzles to flat, old cherries and barnyard taste. There is an odd chemical character in there as well. Finish is almost non-existent and watered down. Decent medium body w/ prickly mouthfeel. I’m shocked at the high rates here. Maybe we have a bad bottle.
