(Bottle at St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki, on 2009-08-19) Red and cloudy. Quite large and a moment lasting pink head. Very strongly cherries and some sourness in aroma. Medium bodied and dryish palate with medium carbonation. Cherries, berries, sourness, sweetness, bitterness, wood, malts and fruitiness in taste. Cherries and wood in aftertaste.

Dove proprio andare in Belgio per rifarmi un’opinione sulle lambic, che finora non avevo particolarmente a cuore. Anche questa Oude Kriek ha contribuito. Colore rosso-ciliegia profondo, buona schiuma compatta e persistente.Aroma fortemente acido,di ciliegia e noccioli di ciliegia. In bocca è forte e aggressiva, acida e secca, fruttata.Finale astringente.Più che buona!

Bottle @ Stone Sour Fest 2009. Pours a deep cherry-red color nice head: compact, and strawberry ice-cream color. As for the aroma,a classic kriek nose of almonds, and of course cherry, feels very natural. Flavor is at first dry, then sour a very satisfying finish.

Lovely genuine cherry flavours all over this. Sharp with a subtle round cherry skin flavour, good mild acidity but not especially funky. Deep woody notes aswell.

Tart cherry aroma with some lactic acid. Smaller head and a brown-red color. Nose great but slightly simple. Very sour, with well-controlled sweetness (less complex than the Girardin I put it up against). Decent tannins and spice. Very refreshing. Perfect sour and fruit balance.

Pours a sort of pinkish amber color with a fizzy two finger head that dissipates very quickly. Aroma is sour cherry in a musty basement. Tangy yeast with some faintly oaky character. The flavor hits immediately with a slightly sweet cherry but is almost just as quickly swallowed in a wave of biting sour. Some slightly mineraly character... there is a bite on the tongue that is more than the sour... almost like putting icy hot on your tongue. Some wood and funk, but the cherry shines through a lot more than I originally expected. If you are looking for sour and funky, this is a solid choice.

Khory’s again.... Poured out a large, thick pink cap that lasts forever, leaves average spotty and ropy lacing on a brew that looks like a dark mahogany yet seems on the wimpy side for colour. The aroma is very good with dark cherry that is not overly powerful, some funk which is nice, wood, leather that is not leather, more funk. I really like the funk in this. The taste, which is pretty much a bunch of mild yet tasty dark cherries really weakens as I go along here almost to the point of boredom. Woody with a bit of tart. This beer came out really impressive with it’s funk quality but that is all gone now and was gone half the way through. Pretty plain although very drinkable - but what Belgium Lambec isn’t? Get Lindeman’s instead.
