Klimaet (296) - Aarhus N, DENMARK - SEP 22, 2014
Bottle at Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours a deep clear red with a thick pink white head. Aromas of some tart cherries, fruity sweetness, some yeast and some stale-like notes. Taste is pretty tart up front but a floral fruity sweetness takes over pretty fast. This is delicious! Finish is pretty tart and very dry. Slightly funky and yeasty. Long-lasting tart fruits in the back of the tongue. Yummy!

Im not quite used to ruby beers with a pink fluffy head ... its weird ... in a good way.Aroma is familiar, the lambic prevails in this beer in smell and taste, nice sour fruits finishing with a gentle bitter. Much like a geuze actually, too much perhaps? Lively carbonation, light body. I enjoyed it, especially with the experience of the Jacobins Kriek Max fresh in my mind.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Murky dark red to almost purple color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, sour red fruits. Taste cherries, red fruits, sourness but well balanced. Nice body and carbonation. Quite like it.

37,5c bottle at home. Ruby red colour, pink foamy head. Nose and taste have sour, prickling cherry, green apples, vinegar and earthy barnyard tones, quite dry and nicely tard. Aftertaste lingers in dry, sweet and sour tardness. Lively carbonation and mouthfeel, good body.

Bottle poured into a snifter. I drank this one right after the Geuze. When I opened this one it shot the cork out of the bottle and left a dent in my roof...

A - Pours dark red with a one and a half finger tall light pink colored head leaving small streaks of lace down the glass. With all that carb I am seeing small bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass for the duration.

S - Smells of tart cherries, musty funk, wet hey, light lactic sourness, and some dry oak. Smells like your typical kriek to me.

T - Starts off with lots of tart cherries slowly giving way to a mix of horse blanket funk, damp earth, dry oak, and some lactic sourness. The finish is quite dry mixing with some musty funk and tart sweetness from the cherries, lingering on the pallet for some time.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderately high carbonation. Very dry finish with a touch of sweetness. This one clearly had to much carbonation.

O - I am not going to knock this one very much for its explosive carbonation because the taste was pretty good. I will have to grab another bottle of this in the future to give it another try.
