Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Jan 19, 2007 Bottle, 375 ml. Nice red colour with a small pink head. Aroma of sour fruits, but I can’t say that I detected any cherry smell. Sharp but balanced acidic flavour, a very good lambic! bac080 (398), Boardman, Ohio, USA Jan 6, 2007 The nickname for this beer at my bar is "Cherry Battery Acid" - I’ve had nothing quite so tart. Still, amazing. Theis (3617), Denmark Jan 2, 2007 Bottle - shared with Jacob, Bager & Mette. Deep red. Cherry, smooth, fruity, high sourness - ruins your gums - dries them out !! Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Jan 2, 2007 75 cl bottle. Deep cherry-red color nice head: compact, and strawberry ice-cream color. As for the aroma,a classic kriek nose of almonds, and of course cherry, feels very natural. Flavor is at first dry, then sour a very satisfiyng finish. It’s well balanced? As for the palate, round and full. I want more!
A very; very good kriekbeer ! porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Jan 1, 2007 (375 ml bottle (best before 3/4/23 (now that’s a shelf life!)) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maryland/baltimore/wells-discount-liquors/1450.htm target=blank>Wells Discount Liquors) Fizzy sour cherries...Pours cloudy red with about two fingers of light red head. Some initial effervescence. Aroma is sour cherry and funk. Mouthfeel is soft, light and fizzy (i.e., soft fizziness). Some rings of lacing. Flavor is sourish cherry and cheesy funk, maybe sweetens a little as it warms. Didn’t really care for flavor of this, although flavor is kind of weak. Tastes kind of "old". Hard to rate. Ruby red pour with a pinkish, fizzy head. Aroma of barnyard funk, sour cherry and some other fruitiness. Flavor of sour, some funk, yest and some cherry as well. Lively carbonation with sort of a juicy mouthfeel that finishes pretty dry. Not bad, even though I’m not big on funk. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 6, 2006 Bottle: Ruby red color with a big pink head. Aroma, sour cherries, some sugar. Flavor, tart and sour cherries up front. The sourness on this was a lot sharper than I usually like.
