The nose is tart with the obvious smell of cherries. to the first tast it folowed thru with classic lambic sour tast followed by charries and all brought together with the sweet smaking of my lips. the beer seems to be very carbinated for a kriek in general let alone one a couple of years old. Delicieous and Unforgetable my favoriet Kriek. schuimkroaat (394), Leuven, Belgium
Old rating: 37.5 cl bottle, bbe 3 Dec 2023. Ruby red, unexpectedly hazy and foamy for a fruit lambic. In the nose, cinnamon and pepper are present, along with some remarkable, but still gentle, acidity. Acidic and woody flavour with a very gently bitter aftertaste, with cherries present all the way. Chewy palate, maybe a bit too simple. Give me more. 8-5-8-4-17 (4.2) aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2004 Pours a fairly clear ruby body with a frothy white head that is tinged pink. The aroma is sour and very cherry with a slight medicinal character and something slightly cheesy that I keep catching occassionally. The flavor is fairly sour and the cherries come through nicely, but there’s not a whole lot backing it up except for a slightly metallic sourness. The palate is big-bubbled and soda-like. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Pour alternates between fluffy head and no head, with a deep pink underbelly that matches the color of the label. Aroma is soft and tart, with a little spring floral kick. Flavor is understated and not overy complex, but balanced between the lambic and cherries. Tart rather than sour, and dry rather than sweet. Finish is fantastic and dry, with an exceptionally live palate. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Pours a watery pink with a sizable head. Nice sour notes but seemed a little weak to me. Still very good however. marcus (1850), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 3, 2004 This cherry red lambic pours with a short pink head, eliciting a light aroma of fermented fruit. There is a very delicate initial cherry taste with a hearty sour finish. This is an outstanding kriek. envane (251), Evanston, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2004 I don’t know whether I’ve simply gotten used to lambics, but this wasn’t too sour. Which I consider a good thing. Not that it was sweet --just littlle hints of sweetness here and thre. Taste was wood, chalky lactic acid, and hints of cherry in the finish. Very refreshing. Sad to see another traditonal lambic brewer go out of business.
