Plenty of cherries on the nose, grass clippings, tea leaves, and some wild yeast funk. Flavour is dominated by wild yeast sourness that gets up in your nose, cherries are also present, the finish is long and acetic. Effervescent mouthfeel, good solid balanced carbo. A really good wild ale. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Shared bottle. Thin lasting white head that is tinted pink from the dark red beer. Thin salty aroma. Flavour is soft, salty, dry with a sweet light fruit taste. Classy. ajm (917), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bottle from Sun Devil. Corks violently and fills the immediate sphere with funky feet smell. Pours a deep blood ruby with a fat bright pink fluffy head that dissipates steadily. One of the prettiest beers I’ve ever seen. Nose is a tart vinegar-alcohol that doesn’t allude to fruit. Flavor is a better strawberry lambic than Upland" wonderfully sweet strawberry-cherry blend that is light on both sour and funk. Finishes sweetly but nicely balanced. Red with white head. Aroma of dryness and cherries. Flavor is balanced sour with fruit and a hint of wood. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 8, 2009 The oaky sour cherry aroma of this beer is absolutely wonderful, this is easily the best kriek I have had even without actually tasting it. The taste is tart and nicely refreshing. I’d love to have this again and again. Pinball (2778), Allerød, Denmark

red, large thick dark-pink head.
sourish, a bit soapy aroma, also some cherries in it. cherry part of flavor is fresh.
boy this is sour. very sour. acidic, sweetness (sort of) from red berries.
palate is grainy and the brew foams up in my mouth.
overall it does taste quite good, but seems to have some edges to it. the sour part is really nice - seems well balanced and "clean". jgb9348 (2495), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Saved for a special occasion - just booked my honeymoon. Perfect uncorking - the cork wanted to come out. Great looking ruby body with light amber highlights and a very thin and fast dying pink head. The aroma is heavenly; Perfect sour cherries, definitely mouth watering. Sweet aroma, some earthiness, a little malt comes through, but the ripe and sour cherries is amazing. Medium-bodied; Effervescent feel with the sour cherries, malt and a good amount of sweetness lingering behind. Aftertaste shows some complexity - yeast, grassiness, bitterness and yes the sugar and sourness is still here. Overall, a great lambic, definitely one to sample! Not my favourite lambic, but definitely worth trying again! I sampled this 37.5 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 17-November-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 02-April-2009. Muggus69 (516), Sydney, Australia

Sampling Notes:
Served chilled in pilsner glass.
Deep murky purple-ish maroon body with tightly packed pink-tinged cream atop.
Plenty of complex funk straightup on the nose; hard cheese and natural yoghurt, hay, woody spice, with a sour cherry element hinting almond-like undertones.
Lively carbonation, quite smooth and creamy, light bodied, dry with an excellent tart acidity that is in great balance with the rest of the body.
Unbelievably complex body; sour cherries seem an obvious description but that has complexities within itself. Marzipan, cinamon spice, malt vinegar, natural yoghurt, blue cheese, vinous dark berries. Excellent full fruit flavour, finishes with a lovely quenching acidity that lingers and entices.
This is a bloody good fruit beer, possibly the best i’ve ever tried!
