Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a dark cherry-hued pink body with a large creamy pink head. Nose is tart cherries, citric acid, barnyard funk, overripe raspberries and hints of horse blanket and straw. Taste is barnyard tones, straw, tart cherries, citric acid and hints of cherry pits and almonds far in the back with some lactic sour tones. Light to medium body, high carbonation. Very pleasant kriek with loads of drinkability and quite a bit of complexity to boot. I like it.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Glowing amber-red, unfiltered, some floaties near the bottom of the glass. Big authentic sour aroma coupled with sour cherries. Big,mouth puckering lemon edged sourness. An absolute pleasure to sip on, there is a lot of cherry depth, sourness taking center stage, but some nice pitty dryness too. Brutal on the palate, in a great way. A real hardcore authentic Kriek lambic.

Rating from 2010:
400gr Kirschen/l Weiß-rosa Schaum, schöne rote Farbe. Sauer-fruchtiger Antrunk!! Der Hauptteil ist säuerlich-fruchtig. Angenehm mild. Sehr schön kirschig & leicht sauer. Dazu leicht malzig. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine angenehm malzig-säuerliche und kirschig-milde Note! Leichte Holzaromen.

Medium pink head. Metallic earthy cherry aroma with toffee notes. Dry, and faintly acidic, toffee and old frozen cherries taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat mouthfeel. Dry-acidic metallic wooden cherry aftertaste with waxy toffee notes. The cherry flavour is fairly exactly the flavour of the cherries from grandpas trees, frozen over the winter in the freezer, then served with cream. Slightly shrunken, softly wrinkled cherries with a consistency like briny, half-decomposed olives steeped in sugary goodness. I’d forgotten how much I loved that flavour, but this reminded me. (0.375l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Nice sour cherry aroma. Some bretta as well. Sour aftertaste with some bitterness. Fruity, sour and some apple cider kind of aroma here. Something like raspberry aromas as well. Great. Bottle at Volo for Zwanze Day.

pours hazy red with a tall creamy and frothy purple-pinkish head, excellent retention and lacing. horse blanket, cherry pith, raspberries, stone fruits, bitter lemon, grass, cheese, red wine acidity, low acetic and phenols, nice lactic and citric notes. bright carbonation, light body, foamy, dry bretty grassy-peppery, lightly acidic and astringent finish. more than impressed here.. this is not only solid, it is excellent!

12.7oz bottle. Best before 28-06-2031. Enjoyed outdoors on a 97F day. Pours a very dark red color, with a beautiful pretty pink head. Gorgeous beer. Actually retains a thin bit of head, with some decent loose lace. Sort of a musty, lambic-type nose, some cherry in the smell. Moderate tart cherry in the flavor, some funky mustiness. Moderate tart taste, not too sour. Light sweet. Bigger body. Smooth, lightly soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly sticky in the finish. Pretty easy-drinking and refreshing. Tasty kriek. Not too strong on the cherry, but enough to satisfy. Not too sour, but sour enough.
