375 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a deep rubyish colour with large, fizzy rose coloured head that lasts nicely. Aroma is tart cherries and almonds. Flavour is tart dark cherry skins, almonds and red grape. Almost wine like. Fizzy, but silky in the mouth. Quite nice.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cork blew off and nearly put a hole through the ceiling... Pours a deep purple crimson with a strawberry ice cream colored head. Aroma is rife with sweet black cherries and full-fat cherry yogurt. Flavor is similar but with a sharp, lemony sourness and a slightly medicinal accent. Very very fruity but not terribly complex.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark red almost purple with a huge thick pink foam. One of the best looking kriek I’ve had. Aroma of dark cherries, cherry skin, light medicinal and somewhat lactic (ice cream). Taste is nicely tart, very fruity (sweet dark cherries) and red wine feel. Medium-lively carbonation, red wine tannins. Nice surprise as I didn’t like the gueuze that much.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark red with a pink head that doesn’t stick to the sides of the glass but still stays for the whole duration. Aroma is cherries over a barnyard/funky blanket. Taste is dry and tart with cherries dominating. There are also some light cheese notes. Carbonation is higher than I expected but makes for a really drinkable OK. A nice oude kriek!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (old label, bought in 2005, so surely brewed at the o r i g i n a l brewery):Hazy, ruby-amber coloured with a stable pinkish head, solid nose of sour cherries and almonds over a solid - as well - sour bretty-cellary base; robust sour and bitter/tart flavour, medium bodied and astonishingly soft; cherries, again, and wheat in the strong sour-tart finish. Extremely well drinkable and devilishly refreshing Kriek…

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Chariots of cherry chasing champagney notes. Foamed right up out of the bottle on opening and ruined a nice pair of slacks I’d been wearing. But I didn’t mind, I got my nose into the foam and sucked. Worth it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Wine Works, found a 10+ year old vtg sitting in the back of the shelf behind newer versions...hiyoo. Shared at Best Western tasting in VT. Poured murky cranberry red with light to medium lacing and head. Notes of cherry funk, wet wood, basement, blackberry, cinnamon crust, and yeast. Pretty acidic but rich with the aging. Not as good as the cantillon krieks but solid.
