Lovely brew. Pours a bright and opaque ruby red with a cm of pinkish head, steady carbonation. Light aroma of acetic with a heavy cherry tartness and funky fruit notes. A bit sweet up front giving the only drawback this beer has. Beautiful tart finish with mild sourness and a funky aftertaste. Medium bodied with a bit of carbonation on the palate.

Pours deep ruby red with small diminishing pink head. Aroma is meaty cherry, floral, bubblegum, perfume, cinnamon. Taste is medium malty, light bitter, medium sour, bit salty. Very broad, wide and generous feel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Lingering finish. Grand.

Bottle. Aroma is cherry, notes of barnyard, citric. Deep red, hazy, medium firm light red head. Light sweetness, light bitterness, medium sour, taste is sour cherries, hints of cherry stone, hints of almond and vanilla, citric. Medium body, average carbonation, silky mouthfeel, tart. Very pure and nice kriek.

Very cherry aroma, duh! Very carbonated with thin white head. Taste of dry rye bread with cherries all in. Extremely dry oak sherry like finish with some macadamia and vanilla popping in. Excellent.

Bottle at Nuetnigenough, 16th September 15. Pours as expected, fairly dark pink, red, high carbonation. Aroma cherries, sour, funk. Taste is clean, lots of cherries, not as deep as some, still good Kriek, but not my favourite

Oud Beersel - Oude Kriek 6.5% Bottle from CBB. Beautiful deep red with a big pink head of foam. This bottle’s cork literally exploded off of it and the beer came gushing out on it’s own! Wild. It’s got an amazingly rich nose of cherries and mild nuttiness - surprisingly sweet smell. Great flavor, cherry, tannic woodsiness, tart, sweet, nutty - wonderful.

0.375 l bottle from local Gall & Gall, 6.5 % abv, bottled in April 2014 (almost one and a half years). Clear, deep red with a medium large, fluffy, quickly diminishing, pink head. Slightly funky, fruity-sourish aroma of sour cherries, wood, raspberries and red grapes. Minimally funky, sourish-fruity taste of sour cherries, raspberry juice, red grapes and some wood, followed by a short and tart finish. Thin to medium body, astringent and spritzy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very easy to drink, not as wild and sour as other examples, rather fruity. Elegant kriek with a nice, vinous touch. Good!

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2015 Update: wonder if the bottle I rated back then (Sep 5 2015) really is the same that I?m having now. Maybe a different year because it?s way different. Aroma is of bubble gum, vinegar, dusty cherries. Body is light, light sweetness, then comes back the dusty cherries. I?ll leave my old rating there but if I had to rate it again it would be: A: 6, a: 4, t:7, p:3, 0: 14. will sure update this rating next time I drink it. I have about 5 other bottled best before 19-09-2035. Hopefully it improves with time. Old rating: 375ml bottle from private import. Aroma: cassis, cherry, vinegar, funkiness. App: hazy purple, minimal pink head. Taste and palate: medium body, velvety, light acidity, ripe apples & cherry and vinegar finish. Overall: great! Quite complex. Love the fruity finish. Size of the bottle is good because more would be a bit too much but this is great like that.
