Pours clear ruby red with one finger of frothy pink head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, minimal lacing. (4/5) Nose is dry funk, light vinegar, sour cherries, some mineral and woody oak. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter, moderate tart. (8/10) Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry tart finish. (4/5) A really nice kriek - lots of pleasant fruit, but not to the extent that it overwhelms the underlying lambic character. Tart but not aggressively so, with a touch of dry brett funk. I like this. (16/20)

Sample @ BBF 15. Pours a bright deep purple beer with a small pinkish head on top. Aroma is barnyard, leather funk, cherries, oak. Flavor is medium tart, loads of fruits and Brett touches in there. Aftertaste is not there, verbinding is pretty high. A decent beer.

Ruby red with a pink head. Not as sour as most "Oude Kriek" beers, a little bit more balanced with some dryness towards the end. Good mix of acidity, cherries and a dry sweetness.

Bottle, best by 2032 so I guess it’s not spoiled! That said, gusher with a shooting cork. Scared my whole family, cork hit the ceiling, made a mess... good times. Pours deep purple with tons of pink foam. Gorgeous after it settled down. Mineral notes dominate the nose, just a hit of cherry. Taste has more tart cherry with minerality still prominent. Moderate tartness, not overpowering but sour enough to shake someone not used to this stuff, or give a nice jolt to those looking for it (ahem). Long finish. Not top-notch -- and pricey! -- but sure, it’s good.

ALLOVATE (2503) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 12, 2015
At just on chilled and into a snifter. ruby red with a tinge of copper and brilliant with sparse and fine effervescence. Frothy pink rises up but dissipates quickly. Amongst a fairy floss, strawberry and candied berry note on the nose is a sharp, olfactory piercing Brett character that hints at oak, mouse fur, hessian, saw dust and cellar must - enticing. Light-weight and highly effervescent on the palate. Vinous with a sharp acidity. Dry, woody and hairy back-end balances the tart, tight fruit upfront. Light weedy note in there too. Medial sweetness of berry resides between each sip along with plenty of oaken, musty cellar notes. Good balance of flavour and shows ample character. Very refreshing. (37,5cL, 6.5% ABV, BB 12/12/32, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
