3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Crazy sour vinegar nose, smells like a stale musty barnyard with a hint of sour cherries. Pours a deep burgundy/brick red hue and makes a fizzy pink head. Flavor is vinegary, hint of sour cherries, tastes very much like a sour red wine... very tart and astringent, hint of cranberry. Light on the palate, coats the mouth very thin and finishes quite dry. Nice quality lambic, moderately complex, enjoyed this one.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
500ml bottle served in a Morte Subite chalice.
A: Pours a deep amber to violet color forming a big bubbled aired fizzy ping head. Medium retention and a thin bubbled layer that lasts for long time. Almost no lacings left
S: Fruit and tart. Cherry juice wi notes of metallic carbonation and Lambic yeasts
T: Follows the nose. Slightly sweet upfront, intense cherry tartness. Overall dry taste with. Rust metal finish
M: Light body and high carbonation. Very smooth mouth sensation to a Kriek beer. It’s a tart but not extremely acid beer. Aftertaste is mainly tart with metallic notes
O: Absolutely drinkable. Excellent quality Belgian Kriek which can be easily compared with a Cantillon or a Drie Fonteinen

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Moderate pink head. Sour smell. Taste is moderately sour but not mouth puckering. No real sweetness and only a hint of cherries. Could have used a bit more fruit up front but the beer is complex and rewarding.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
375ml bottle from St. Veronus. Ruby red body with giant deep rose head, possibly the prettiest beer I’ve ever been served. No sweetness on the nose at all, cherry, barnyard funk, some wood notes present as well- wine like. Tartness blends flawlessly with the carbonation level. Tasted side by side with Mort Subite’s Kriek offering and it really emphasized the deep cherry flavoring opposed to a sweet cherry flavoring.

wish list cross-off from the Jug Shop in SF. i’m really diggin the balance of tartness and cherry flavor that was slightly lacking in the (regular)Cantillon Kriek i just enjoyed. quite tart up front, fizzy feel, gorgeous dark red color, and a very pleasant flavor. well done."

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours a deep clear red with a thick pink white head. Aromas of some tart cherries, fruity sweetness, some yeast and some stale-like notes. Taste is pretty tart up front but a floral fruity sweetness takes over pretty fast. This is delicious! Finish is pretty tart and very dry. Slightly funky and yeasty. Long-lasting tart fruits in the back of the tongue. Yummy!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I’m not quite used to ruby beers with a pink fluffy head ... it’s weird ... in a good way.Aroma is familiar, the lambic prevails in this beer in smell and taste, nice sour fruits finishing with a gentle bitter. Much like a geuze actually, too much perhaps? Lively carbonation, light body. I enjoyed it, especially with the experience of the Jacobins Kriek Max fresh in my mind.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Murky dark red to almost purple color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, sour red fruits. Taste cherries, red fruits, sourness but well balanced. Nice body and carbonation. Quite like it.
