Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Oud Beersel Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Oud Beersel Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

2 ounces at tasting. Aroma: light apples, floral notes, subtle dust. App: almost clear golden, no head. Taste and palate: light body, soft carbonation, light medium sweetness, moderate acidity finish. Overall: everything is really subtle in this lambic but really good and refreshing.

Quite happy to finally get a chance to sample this! Many pours from a keg and growlers to take home! Pours a hazy golden with no head and no lacing (kind of expected for something that is supposed to be still). Nose is cheezy and just generally funky with the usual barnyard and hay. Taste is moderately tart and offers oak, lemon and light funk. Dry. Really classy. Body is light to medium, carbonation moderate. Just really refreshing, I could never get tired of drinking that! Looking forward to the next few pours in the comfort of my home!

from poly keg. hazy golden-orange with a thin white cap offering some retention and lacing. woody citrus, old grassy wet hops, peach orchardness, peppery wheat, on-the-spot tartness - very complex flora; white truffles, pepper, salt. moderate carbonation - a bit surprising for unblended lambic; tart woodsy-spicy finish. complex - solid oude lambic.

Tap at BeerGeek as Oude Vieux Lambiek. Perfectly hazy, yellow to golden body, minimal white head. Earthy aroma with berries, husks, horses, stables. Taste is lightly bitter, lightly sour, moderately and pleasantly tart. Berries, hawthorn, cranberries, leather, peel of citruses. Medium body, very liw carbonation.
Wild, perfectly tart, I like it!

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2016 From a bag, 1.5 years old. Slightly hazy golden color with no head. Aroma is quite funky and musty with intense cellar and barnyard character. Taste starts slightly sweet but also sour and gets quite bitter on the finish. Light, dry body, almost flat. Really complex for such a "young" lambic.
