Corked bottle and served in tulip: Pours a mostly clean golden hue with a great frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of vinegar, horseblanket, moldy cheese, flowers, and grassy hops. The taste is sour’d without breaking the enamel on my teeth. Lovely balance of wild yeast notes, pale malts and earthy undertones. Pound 4 pound aka cost per ounce, this could be the best Gueze on the market! Lively crisp and works with so many foods (including Chinese takeout). YUM!

Bottle->stem. Murky copper with thin white head. Aroma: strong funk, dank, tad unpleasant. Taste: bright sour, funky, with a sweet finish. Very good.

Pours a murky orange from the bottle with lots of bubbly carbonation but no real head or lacing. Aroma of sour fruity and a dirty funk. Taste is a dry sour tarty fruit with a lasting bite on the tongue. Pretty damn good.

Very solid Gueuze with a beautiful woody and aged aroma and a light fruity perfume scent. The pour is a matte orange golden tint with a bountiful white head and a few lackluster lacing splotches. The carbonation subsides rather quickly, but it is well aged. LIght sweetness and a few fruity notes up front with a moderate sour flavour and a complex funk and musty wood aged flavour. Not as complex nor as intense as most beers of this style, but a nice beer for sure. The finish lingers with a mild sour funk and earthen barnyard note. Overall, rather good.

375ml bottle at 6.4%. Pours a hazy orange with a small, frothy head. Aroma is sour lemon, woody, ashy and horseblanket. Taste is mild and ashy to start with a very strong, sour lemon finish. Soft mouthfeel.

Bottle. Poured hazy dark straw with fizzy white head. Nose is lactic sour mashy fruit, yeasty funk. Tastes tart, earthy, funky, yeasty, with a level of tartness not at the Cantillon level, but with more lactosy sweetness mixed with the heavy fruit and funk.

Hazy light orange with a large head that dissipates quickly. Gushed a little when opened. Aroma is barnyard funk, horse blanket, sour milk, mustard. Medium bodied, sour on the palate with a hint of background sweetness and a dry finish. Taste is tart lemon, orange juice, citrus zest, hint of honey. Complex and tasty but the aroma is not compelling.

Bottle from Whole Foods at Bill’s recommendation. Pours an effervescent gold with lots of white head. Aroma is sour, with a slight cheese aroma. Notes of old citrus zest and grapes. Flavor is sour, well rounded, lactic, with the right amount of carbonation. A very nice geuze that is readily available. Not as complex as other big names but very good.
