3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Tipples. Pours a deep hazy orange color with only a small ring of fizzy white head. Aroma of sour vinegar, some minty effervescence, orange peel, apricots, cherry, green apple. This smells glorious. Flavor is big green apple, sour vinegar, some candy sugar. Effervescent but not as much carb as I expected, easy drinking, mouth puckering. Overall I like this a lot, even more so than Drie Fontenin'a Oude Gueze. Nice beer.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. From walt’s cellar. Shared with friends while telling stories and missing the oompa loompa. Hazed tan body with a minimal head. Sweaty aroma that promises a great tasting beer. Full body earthy sour with a berry note. Leather flavor keeps emerging. Sweaty leather, a beer for the bondage fans. Apparently ratman burned down an elementary school. Or i wasn’t listening well.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Popped the cork and expected massive funk based on the reviews here, but I am happy to report this is dominated mostly by candy apple, lemon, and mustard seed. It’s strong, but well-balanced. The appearance is also quite nice - cloudy orange-gold with a frothy off-white head. Taste is sour lemon, horseradish, acid, vinegar, and green apple. While I would not go for this style regularly - I can only take sours, Brett, etc. in small doses - it was great to try this out and find it’s not as funky, footy, and cheesy as I’ve sometimes read. So yeah, I’m highly picky about sour/funky beer, but this took me by surprise.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
15cl. from bottle at Brassigaume 2013. Pours a hazy golden colour with a good white head. Aroma is sour. Tastes sour with a light bitter suttle sweet fruity end. Medium to low carbonation. I think it should be a little more cooler.

Very smooth geuze. Perhaps not the tastiest, but very smooth good drinkability indeed.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle, 2010/2011) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with grapefruit, green grapes, barnyard, hay, peaches, white bread and hints of clove. Fruity, tart taste with lemon, grapefruit, hay, unripe green grapes, white bread, apricots and a dry and tart finish with a soft and balanced acidity. Medium body, dry. Excellent gueuze: tasty, tart and well balanced. Lovely beer!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really nice and fruity and bitter and sweet and sour and acidic gueuze - frankly on of the best of these lambics I’ve tried. Great experience, and much more exciting than fx a bottle of champagne.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
375mL bottle 2011-2012 vintage
Hazy orange body with pretty much no head.
Good funky aroma; vinous citrus - grapefruit, lemon rind, bitter orange marmalade - white vinegar, subtle oak influence, with a bit of pale cereal character, a faint hint of washed rind cheesy funk
Highly effervescent carbonation, light on the body, with appreciable citric/acetic acidity.
Citrus continues on the palate - more grapefruit & lemon rind, vinegar, cheesy, slightly horsey funk. Drops away to a somewhat abrupt watery finish, with a mild bitterness and bit of tannic grip.
A very decent Lambic, perhaps not as complex/intense as others i’ve come across. Nice and funky nonetheless.
