4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 brenn79 (1198) - Idaho, USA - MAY 18, 2013
12.7 oz. corked n’ caged bottle, best before 05/03/2021- Pours slightly hazy golden with lively carbonation and a one finger head. The aroma is funky barnyard all the way, and very sour and acidic, a mild skunk that goes away pretty fast thankfully, stupid green bottle. The taste is mouth puckering sour, vinegary, funky up the ass, this is what I want in a Gueuze, very tasty. Body is medium and carbonation is high. Good shit, I love a good Belgian funky lambic, and this is a great one!

Imported two-year-old bottle. Very cloudy, beige brown color. Aromas of young fruits, especially peach, hay, dust. Very acid taste. Aftertaste of grapefruit, cherry and raspberry. Very dry. The astringent effect leaves a pleasent sweet finish.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bretteux (109) - Ste-Julie, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 14, 2013
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 conway (570) - - MAY 13, 2013
Bottle. Pours golden orange with a fluffy white head leaving a little lacing. Aroma is strawberry yogurt, white wine and vinegar. Taste is unbelievably sour to start but your palate adjusts after a few sips. Vinous and tart. Finish is lightly Brett with a lingering sweetness on the finish. Palate is medium bodied with heavy carbonation. Not too dry. Very happy with my first gueze experience.

Bottled thanks to Alice and Jan. Hazy golden pour, medium frothy white head. Nice soft geuze aroma, wheat, hay, barnyard, horseblanket, soft tartness. But all quite soft and not really harsh like some other geuzes. Soft sourness in taste. Easy to drink and well balanced geuze.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nealblind (74) - USA - MAY 9, 2013
2010-2011 vintage. white head that evaporates quickly. hazy golden color. Smells like a honeyed apple cider Beck’s. Very acidic. Tastes like fermented granny smith apples. Nots sweet at all. Nice yeasty and mineral flavors in the mix. Dry finish. I’ve had all these same flavors out of mediocre kombucha. To be fair, this is my first time trying this style.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Borresteijn (3643) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 8, 2013
37.5cl Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent, at 6.4% ABV, 2010-2011, this is the blend of 1,2 and 3 year old lambic. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma is acidic, some green apples, loads of nice funk, lemony sourness, hint of acetone, gets more acidic when it warms. Smells really nice. Flavour is light sweet, light malty and floral, quite acidic, acetone, funk, tartness, sourness, a little quinine bitterness, lemons. Nice body for a gueuze, suitable carbonation. A gueuze I thoroughly enjoyed, AND actually the first I finished a whole bottle of by myself. I need to check my temperature I think..
