UPDATED: JAN 1, 2012 Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin head to it. Has a funky, citrus. horse blanket smell to it. Taste is very similar with a nice mixture of sourness, funk and a slight bitter finish.

I’m not very experienced with lambics, but I enjoy trying everything. 750ml bottle pour shared with a friend. Orange color with a generous light head. Aroma is funky and musty, with some plums and armpit. Taste is quite sour, hints of fruit, granny smith apples, and more funk. Taste shifts as it warms, for this is a complex beer. I understand why many like it, but this isn’t my style.

Quite apple cider and lemony aroma. Sour, lactic ( cheesy) , acid and sour taste with tart notes. Ligth body with quite high carbonation. Aftertaste is complex with sour prominence. Despite the exceptional rating of this beer, I am afraid I do not like it so much.

Bottle at Borefts Beer Festival 2014. Pours orange-yellow with a short lasting, white head. Aroma has nice, funky, wooden, sour notes. Grassy bitterness, lemon peel, unripe grapefruit, gooseberry and vinegar. Taste is nice, dry and sour, but with lots of citrussy fruits going on. Really good stuff! Crisp body and high carbonation!

Bottle at Moeder Lambic Fontinas. 2012/13 batch. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a big white head. Really funky aroma with sharp green apples and a bit of wood in the background. Lively carbonation. Fantastic up-front tartness. Dry. Really one of my favourites.

Bonne acidité qui n’est pas trop agressive. Elle se boit très facilement. Une très bonne gueuze pour découvrir Ce type de bière

Gentle aroma. Generous mouthfeel. Less acid than some other geuzes. That could be a good geuze to start with.

Pours a hazy golden colour with a 1/2 head that lasted to the bottom. Not much lacing. This beer is a sour monster, with grapefruit and Granny Smith apple like sourness. After the pucker passes you end up with a salty finish to wash away the sour. Excellent representation of the style.

Caged and corked bottle. Poured a cloudy golden color with an averaged sized head. Citrus, green apples, musty, funky, wood, and some earthiness.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2015 2015-01-20: 8+4+9+5+18 = 4.4. Bottle, 2012/13 version. Clear copper with a large frothy off white head. Dusty and fruity nose. Dust, barnyard, lemon, hay, wood, minerals. Super refreshing with lemony sourness. Soft and fluffy mouthfeel. This hits a good balance for my preference, not too sweet or too sour. Great.

13/14 version. Hazy orange with a small white head. Still dominated by lemony sourness, but this seems more lactic and bile like sour and not bright and crisp as the 12/13 edition. Also a bit more flat and heavy. Some leather, wood and potentilla erecta, yay. Too bad, I was all worked up about this, but now I am back to feeling frustrated and disillusioned.
