4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Small, but relatively stable yellowish-beige head over fully cloudy orange-ochre beer. Farmyard odour, hard leatherfat, citrus (lemon especially); only very faintly fruity, all the more gueuze-y. Sharp lemony flavour; flowery, fruitzeste, again - if restrained - leatherfataroma as a flavour. Finish is rather abrupt, just the lemony sourness tangentially fleeting. Sharpish, very tart, dry-out effect to quite some extent. Maybe medium bodied still. Phenomenally refreshing. Just as experienced with other (non-lambic) quetche beers, there’s not a very distinct, recognisable fruitflavour. What remains is a superb lambicbeer... bettering all the time @ Tilquin. Grand merci à Jean ML

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Batch 2 of Quetsche. Belgian bottling, 2012/2013 on the label. Stored sideways @ 55F since March of 2013. Enjoyed split two ways at 40F in wine stemware in a basket server. Pours a frothy white head with cloudy light reddish hues. Nose is bright, lemony, acidic and a touch of grassiness. Taste is pretty incredible! Pierre, you rock! Raspberry, plum, blueberry and grassy hay. Super acidic, very little sweetness, insanely dry finish. Has a lemon rind sort of crispness to it.
I cannot wait to try more of Pierre’s fruit lambic. This one is a winner!

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Matt! Pours hazy deep amber with a a touch of orange and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of oakiness with light funk and a nice tart sourness. Flavor is more acidic with sour plum and a bit of oakiness coming out in the finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from bottle at What the Funk!? 2014. Appearance is slightly hazy orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Uriney, lemony, slightly lactic, funky, sweet tarts, vanilla, cheesy, and waxy aroma. Taste is lemon peel, lacto, somewhat salty, earthy, urine, grass, armpit, oak, and horse blanket with a medium sour finish. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Tasty, but not exactly what I expected. I will have to revisit this one soon.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Startlingly high carbonation level given some of the reports. Excellent plum character, nice tartness, not as funky as I’d like and a bit less juicy-gushy than the best Cantillon fruit lambics but nevertheless great beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2013 375mL bottle, drunk 4/6/14
Lightly hazed currant-tinted apricot colored liquid is topped by a prune juice-tinted off-white head that recedes quickly to a ring.
Sour nose displays the oude gueuze character of well-rounded malo-lacto notes coupled with moderate brett acids. Lots of that Cantillon-like funk with horseblanket, sulphur, light farm animal poop. The plum adds a touch of sweetness but mostly dry plum skin and tart, acids that are mostly lost amidst the critter-induced acids. Very good strength to it and no flaws or alcohol.
Very, near bracingly sour. Tons of brett acids tarten up the softly sour lactic base while the plum juice seems quite tart/sour as well. As in the aroma, it’s tough to pull those acids out from the rest of it, though the dark fruit flavor, almost black currant-like is certainly noticeable. Nice restraint on the fruit. Much lighter on the fruit flavor than a Cantillon fruit lambic. More along the lines of 3F Oude Kriek. More Cantillon -like flavors abound, with leather, cheese, some light acetic acids and a delicious lactic finish to wrap it all up. Mouthfeel is lightly slick and carbonation, while ample is just a touch fizzy/loose. Great stuff, as expected. Hope to see some new products from these guys soon.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
375ml bottle from the 2013 batch. Pours a fairly hazy grapefruit color with a thin ring of white head. Nose has some funk, medicine cabinet, very pithy, grapefruit peel, rotten apples, stewed greens, some wildflower. Flavor is tart, pithy, grapefruit, a hint of prune, grassy, lightly medicinal. Tart finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Feines, klassich saures Lambic mit fruchtigen Kirsch- und Pflaumennoten. Dies jedoch nicht vollkommen ausgereift und ohne Hintergrund. Dennoch classy. Aber nicht weltklasse.
