3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2012For those that do not know, Huckleberry Roasters is a microroastery that is located right next door to the brewery - they’re decent, and their beans are pretty much what save this beer - dark ruby pour - frothy lace - nose and flavor are very much dominated by the coffee, which is fine with me - medium roastiness, mild acidity, the beans have hints of smoke, vanilla, berries - the malt is lightly astringent, but this one was okay.
2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ogiergrove (105) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - MAY 11, 2013
At the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with creamy head. Rich coffee nose, which is unfortunately the only flavor that comes through the otherwise lackluster stout.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 onceblind (2535) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Black with a persistent foamy light beige head. Aroma of acidic cold black coffee with roasty black malt and bittersweet dark cocoa. Flavor had a lot of cold black coffee but not in a stale way, but like in a trendy coffee shop way (without the cream), with a little roasted black grains and a certain sweetness on the finish. Lots of fresh black coffee throughout, without an acidic flavor or any astringency..a pleasure to find.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of caramel, roast, coffee grounds, some slight earth, chocolate, biscuit, toffee in there. Taste is sweet coffee, slightly overly bitter coffee grounds, some cocoa, chocolate, hints of toffee, finishing bitter and roasted.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Steve_0 (1255) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 4, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep brown, almost black appearance, with a one-finger khaki head. Huge bitter, over-roasted coffee aroma, with light earthy notes, cocoa, and rye bread. Taste is really overbearing coffee and way too roasted. Other notes of bread, espresso, and wood, but completely overshadowed by astringent, bitter coffee. Light body with soft carbonation. This one has potential, but needs some serious work.
