Spicey aroma, off malts and some hop citrus tones. Flavour was abruptly interupted with spicey chilli that lingered and left an unpleasant after taste that put off the next sip. Not my style and not sure if chilli beer should be allowed to be brewed? Really a nothing beer

Better than the only other chilli beer I’ve tried. Good colour and aroma but strong aftertaste. Still not convinced chilli beer is a good idea.

Bottle (330ml). Poured copper with a small, thick, frothy, off-white head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of sweet caramel malts with some paprika, hints of dark berries, a touch of cinnamon and some awful notes of dust & dirt (destroying what little aroma was there). Flavor was similar to aroma with sweet caramel malts, paprika, strong notes of dust & dirt, some metallic notes and very light notes of pepper in the finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation, a thin watery texture and a short finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of chili and metal. Light in body, notes of sweet caramel and capsicum rather than chili. This is not burning hot as other chili beers I’ve had, just lightly spicy. No real bitterness. A very mild chili beer. 030208

Really strange thing this one. Nice amber coler and fair head. No aroma what-so-ever. Chilli in the taste which is absolutely awfull.

I was put off Chilli Beers by a dodgy beer i bought at Salamander Mkts in Hobart some years ago. This is a vast improvement on that... but still what a stupid idea to add chilli to beer. Drinks like a normal beer at first and then some chilli flesh taste kicks in. Is ok to drink as a novelty but abit of a gimmick.

330ml bottle served chilled. I’ve gotta mention my skepticism of chilli beers after a bad experience I had with a mates homebrewed chilli beer, needless to say, it was like drinking tabasco sauce, and put me off the idea of using such a thing in a beer. Slight capsicum on the nose, some butterscotch maltiness as in the pils. Pours a clean amber body with a dense bit of offwhite head and lace. Mild carbonation, watery body. Some underlying biscuity/butterscotch malt flavour, layer with a quite a bit of green capsicum flavour, and heat, i’d say may 2 stars at tops. Finishes warming with an offputting overcooked vegetable note. Not the worst i’ve tried but why they bother.

Disappointing. Amber, no head. The base beer was not terribly good, maybe a bit sweet or malty. The chilli could be tasted but was not exactly distinctive and there was no noticeable burn.
