2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tankerkev (4) - USA - JUL 29, 2011 does not count
On tap at the brewpub. Arrived with no head. Decent flavor, paired well with a brat sandwich. Very drinkable, nice taste, just nothing special. Only medium body, which I want more from a brown ale.

On tap at the brewpub. Medium nut brown color with a one-finger whitish head that has average retention. Nutty and malty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Rather standard for the style. The flavor is also pretty standard: caramel, nuts, light toast, brown sugar, and milk chocolate. On the mouthfeel, it’s not terrible, but could use a little more heft to it. Medium-light bodied. A slightly above average brown ale overall. Decent enough.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Capa (1905) - Manama, BAHRAIN - AUG 30, 2010
Caramel malt, lightly toasted, light sweetness and fairly light body on this brown. A sure winner if you’re looking for a session beer. Underrated.

On tap at the pub. Dark amber color with a foamy beige head. Faint roast grain hints in the otherwise very clean nose. Brown sugar sweetness, burnt toast and wet grain flavors. The finish had an ashy astringency. Okay brown ale.

A little too light / watery for me to be a top notch brown. Red / Brown color, clear & translucent with minimal head. Very mild taste. Light body, soft carbonation.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Elwood (2490) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Deep reddish brown with a creamy white head. Okay head retention.
Aroma: Nutty with slight roasted notes and a touch of hops.
Flavor: Bitter roasted notes with bits of almonds, earth, and a touch of smoke.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel and a medium-long, roasty finish. A little thin the body.
Overall: Despite being a little on the thin side, it was refreshing and highly sessionable. Still, there really isn’t anything earth shaking about it.
