COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Tripel is not a mis-spelling of Triple, nor is it a Triple-Bock, but it is a classic Belgian styled strong ale. Pale in color and deceptively light, it’s also smooth, complex, creamy, and sneaky! Beware, or you too might end up in the dog house. 10 oz. snifters only! (10.3% abv.)

Had on tap in a sampler at the brewery. Pours a cloudy straw orange with a lighter head than expecting. Aromas of fruity esters, banana, with some spicy phenols mixed in. Taste is good, if not complex with the esters at first followed by the spice with a hint of hops. Overall, it's a decent take on a Belgian Tripel. --- Cheers

On tap at brewpub. Poured a clear pale golden color with a thin white lasting head that left some lace. Aroma of candied sugars, fruits and spicey yeast with alcohol in the background. After getting past the alcohol in the initial sip the sweet sugars and fruit come through, finishing with a soft slightly dry spiciness. Medium bodied with light carbonation and somewhat thin mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewpub. Can’t believe they charge 2 BUCKS EXTRA for a sample of this vs. a sample of any other beer. Pours a mostly clear deep golden color with a small, fading white head. The aroma is mainly sweet pale malt, honey, and fruity esters. Only slightly Belgian-smelling. The flavor is sweet and rather Americanized, with fruity esters lending apple and pear notes, sweet pale malt, honey, and very slight Belgian yeast. Medium-bodied with medium-low carbonation and a tiny bit of syrupiness. "Deceptively light" Is right, as this beer hides the ABV very well. Will put you on your ass if not impress you. Fine but not great for the style.

Draft at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Pours a bright yellow body with slight haze. Aroma is sweet candy, malt, and yeast. Mouthfeel is thin to medium with notes of smooth malt and sweet Belgian candy.

Had this off the draft July 3rd at the brewery. Nice gold color. No real head to speak of with little to no lacing on the glass. Seems to be typical of the American tripels that I have had. More on the full bodied side. Hiding the alcohol very well though. Smooth. I smell candied sugars, belgian yeast, apricots, apples and pears. I can slightly taste the alcohol a the end, apples, pears, candied sugars, slight orange peel. Very nice beer especially for where they are located!

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Light honey orange color with a small white ring around the glass for a head. No lacing left behind. Aroma: Alcohol, oranges, and a sweet maltiness. Almost a little on the raw side. Flavor: Honey, floral notes, some alcohol, and a little bubblegum. Not as complex as I was hoping. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium-short, sweet finish. Overall: Not very complex but not a bad attempt. A good gateway tripel if there is such a thing.

Draft at OBBS on Friday June 13th. Amber bodied. Nose is sweet and malty with candied fruits, yeast, spices, and light hops. Taste is spicy and floral hops, fruits, spices, citrus notes, candy-ish flavors and sweet malt. Body is medium to medium-full. Light carbonation. Soft warming during the finish from the alcohol. Ends with more fruit notes, spices, flowery flavors, yeast and sweet malt. Pretty good stuff!

Growler from the brewery. Clear golden with fine white head and a bit of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pale malts with some spicey yeast notes and some bannana and bubble gum. Flavor follows the aroma with some spicey and fruity yeast character along with some candi sugar sweetness. Finish is relatively dry with a moderate amount of hop bitterness and some mediciny hot alchohol notes.
