3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Pours a dark, golden body with nice white lacing. Aroma is fresh hop (grassy, pine, citrus). Mouthfeel is smooth with notes of citrus hop, pine, and sweet grassy notes.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub. Clear copper in color with a well-formed white head that lasts and leaves good lacing. The aroma is big on hops - citrus mainly, with a little earthy resin - with caramel malt to back it up. They weren’t kidding around with this one. The flavor is also surprisingly bold and hoppy. Orange, tangerine, grapefruit, and resin. Sweet caramel backs it up. Complex and tasty. Considerably palate wrecking, with medium body and a long bitter finish. A hit overall, probably the second-best beer I had on my recent trip to OBBS.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very good, powerful IPA. Deep amber color with thin head. Strong hop aroma more spruce/grass, but hard to pick out specifically. Very satisfying beer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
7-31-09 Draft at brew pub....Cloudy amber....holy bitter hops...aroma vey hop driven as well...nothing but hops here and quite bitter...lacing is decent...a touch of sweet malt, but mostly bitter hop...the high alcohol is hidden pretty well...its unbalanced and just pungent hops

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the pub. Golden color with an off-white head that left lots of sticky lace. Nice grapefruit rind hop nose. This is a big, well balanced IPA. Nice malty backbone with sharp grapefruit rind and pine hops dominating the flavor. Very smooth for the ABV. Its what you would expect from a good PNW IPA.
