Tap poured a clear yellow color with white head. Aroma was heavy lemon with a touch of wheat. The flavor was like a lemongrass shot with not much of a body or beer taste at all. Finish was dry.

I enjoyed this thirst quenching hefe which definitely has a strong lemongrass flavor going on for it and some crispy sour qualities along with not too much sweetness. I was surprised I was given a lemon to put into it, I’m not sure it could get any boost there. The body isn’t too complex thought but it makes for a great summer beer inside a brewpub which lacks A/C where you wait 45 minutes.

Hazy deep straw pour, with a decent head and lace. The nose is spot-on for banana. Banana flavors, with lemon zest, wheat and clove... well-integrated. The clove provides a lightly numbing finish. It has a smooth mouthfeel with a light body. Since it is a late summer seasonal, I wish it were a bit crisper. Otherwise, quite well done. A sleeper from OBBS.

A fantastic beer for a hot summer day. I sampled this beer two days after Hurricane Isabel...then promptly ordered several pint glasses worth! Very light and refreshing with a tartness infused by the lemongrass. Finishes clean and begs you to order another!

Per the bar manager, they only do this one once a year, and it is a favorite of the owner when it comes around. Bright hazy yellow, decent head. Slight lemon and citrus aroma. Flavor was a straightforward wheat with notes of lemon and hay, rather pleasant. Nice mouthfeel. Many (including the bar manager I spoke to), seemed to think this beer was a lemon blast, but I thought it nicely balanced. Enjoyable brew.

On tap at the Brewgrass Festival in Asheville, they weren’t lying when they named it. Very lemon, almost to the point of lemon scented lysol. Not a fan.

Beer #6 at the World Beer Festival in Durham. Another surprising beer, and distinct among the hundreds of brews available that day. Really crisp, refreshing, like a wheat beer ought to be.

Draught at the World Beer Festival, Durham, NC. Cloudy yellow color with fluffy white head. Lemony, yeasty nose and flavor. An unusual, tasty beer.

Cloudy, pale yellow. Smells like, well, lemongrass. Familiar wheat "wang", and them some lemon flavors. Kinda artifical wheat flavors, actually. Biting, dry finish. A lot good, but quite a bit of bad, as well. Interesting, but ultimately can’t recommend. Sampled at 2004 Asheville Brewgrass Festival.
