Outer Banks Lost Colony Porter

On tap at the brewpub. Dark beer that showed a pretty garnet color when held up to the light. Creamy beige head that left strong lace. Some roast grain notes with some coffee and sweetened chocolate. Seemed a little thin and almost superficial.

Tapped sampler, OBX, NC. Can’t keep all the names straight so I’m rating under this porter. Overall pretty okay - roasted malt, some chocolate aroma and taste. Could have more body & texture.

Draught at the brewpub. Not sure if this is a different recipe than the other porter on the list of offerings by this brewer. Clear dark brown color with malty nose and moderate carbonation. Chocolate and licorice are prominent in the aroma and flavor.
