JFURYCAT (706), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2005 This was my favorite of the OBX beers for the night as it had some delightful citrus-like fruit tones to it. As Drew stated, the finish is where things are at as the initial taste did not do much for me either. I like Rye but wish there was more in the taste. They seem to stress lightness so they won’t scare off the tourists. argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA Jun 21, 2005 Clear amber body with white head. Aroma is medium sweet, honey, rye, light citrus. Taste is moderately sweet, honey, rye, some citrus that gains strength in the finish. Light-medium body, Pleasant easy-drinking beer. Drew (2375), Kent, Ohio, USA Jun 20, 2005 This had a nice spicy aroma that was also lightly bready. Copper red bodied, good head and lace. Taste started off too faint - a bit of bready malt, a little bit of bite. The finish is where all the action is - lot’s of rye bite and "zing!" I’ve had brews with a stronger rye presence, but this one does go very well with food - interesting enough but not overwhelming your calamari.
