COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Vitus Reductus Old Stock Ale (Malt beverage brewed w/ grapes & aged in wine barrels). Old Stock Ales are long aged in oak casks where they pick up character from the oak and microorganisms residing in the wood. Ours is a combination of first runnings (concentrated sweet wort)and boiled down reduction of N.C’s native grape Muscadine. It is then fermented and aged in wine barrels for a year. Vitis Reductus refers to a technique we borrow from Spanish sherry-making, wherein grape juice is boiled down to one-third its original volume and then some fresh grape juice is added back to the blend. V.R. Old Stock Ale is rich, robust, and mellow while decidedly different. Batch No.1 Brewed 09/2010 Barreled 09/2010 Bottled 01/2012
