UPDATED: OCT 28, 2013 On tap @ Kyoto.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2014 Draught at Bungalow. Jet black with a tan head. A sweet chocolate aroma, not much espresso. Very sweet flavour, more than I expected for the style. Has some dark fruit and sherry notes as well. Light bodied bt very drinkable.

Draft to flute Plum, chocolate, toasted malts, and nutmeg. Dark brown with a touch of red and a tan rung like head. Milk chocolate, cereal and hay. Very thin for an imperial stout...very disappointing.

Draft - Roasted malts and coffee, Jet black with a thin brown head. Roasted malts, black coffee and not nearly enough body to match. So big on flavor and light on palate just doesn’t do it for me.

Westkyoto77 (501) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 16, 2013
Draught at Bungalow. Jet black, thin tan head. Espresso and malt nose. Sticky but not overly so. Well-balanced flavours of dark chocolate, licorice, dab of soy sauce. Satisfying without being over-heavy. Delightful.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 8% at Bungalow on tap. A nice dark cola brown pour with a thick beige head. Weak chocolate aroma & smooth but thin body. The taste is well balanced between sweet syrupy chocolate & roast coffee bitterness but is more sweet by a hair. Decent. ----new, Dec 2013----- 8% Glass 950 yen at Aoi Beer Stand. A great black pour with a tan head with ridiculous staying power. Nice rich smooth chocolate+cocoa aroma. Medium to full bodied. The taste is chocolate, vanilla, roasted notes, cocoa paste, creamy. Really good stuff.---March 2014--- On tap at Molto, a really nice rich creamy chocolatey aroma. Dark black pour with a light beige head & good lacing. Nice med-full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. The taste is potent, a little boozy but with good chocolate, dark chocolate, fudge kind of flavors.

Nice milk chocolate nose, deep toffee taste. Very smooth drink, can barely feel the alcohol. Great stout experience.

KyotoLefty (6145) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 14, 2013
Draught at Q-Brick. Roasty nose, dry chocolate, coffee and mil, a bit of smoke and a touch of vegetables. Tangy flavor, orasty, some fruit, dark chocolate, coffee. Very flavorful and drinkable, with a dry, bitter finish. Like most in Japan, this is more a foreign Export than Imperial Stout. Damn good one, though.
