COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops abound in this triple Belgian ale, brewed with three times the normal amount of pilsner-malt to build on plenty of raw rich material, and an 'over the edge' amount of Hallertau and Aurora hops. Just to make it perfect with a great hoppy nose, a full round complex mouth-feel and a lingering beautiful hoppy aftertaste, in perfect balance with the glow of the 9.5 % alcohol by volume. Refermented in the keg (keg conditioned) to infuse the softness and easy drinkability of the natural carbonation. Brewery Van Steenberge craftsmanship by excellence!

House beer for Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured hazy orange with some white lacing. Starts sweet and finishes with a fruity hoppiness. I’m usually pretty skeptical of these ’house beers’ at places like this but his one was not too shabby.

Had this at the sharpe edge creekhouse in crafton. When ordering, the waitress (who was terrible) told me not to order it because it sucked. Well, needless to say I ordered it anyway because I had tried all the others on tap and I was pleasantly surprised. Pours a dark yellow orange, hazy, with medium amount of offwhite head. Aroma is sweet sugared citrus fruits. Flavor is light and a bit watery, fruity, with a bit of caramel sweetness. Finish dryer grassy hop bitterness. Overall, enjoyable and worth the try no matter what the waitress says.

Darker blond coloured beer with some light carbonation and an average white head. Fruity hoppy, slightly grainy aroma nicely balanced. Full refreshing taste. Finish is bitter, overwhelming bitter, light yeasty touched with a long almost extreme bitter dry ending. Not far to look for ’over the edge’. Nice specialty brew.

Draught at ZBF09. The aroma has some citrus, hint of spice. Cloudy orange colour. The flavour has Belgian yeast, hint of brett. Coriander, some old rag, a bit funky. OK pepper note in the finish. Typical van Steenberge quality.

Tap @ ZBF 2009.
Pours muddy yellow with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has oranges, light sweet maltiness. High carbonation, very dry mouthfeel. Nice flavour, much better than the limited aroma. The oranges and lemons mix well with the malts and there a fine, dry finish to it. Okay.

Draught at Zythos Beer Festival, March 7th and 8th 09 Pours a clear lemony/light gold colour with an impressive whipped ice cream style head. Great hoppy nose and a good dose of yeast. Nice stinging bitterness which is soon calmed down by a lovely vein of sweetness rushing through. Great beer! A6 A4 F8 P4 OV16 3.8

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2009 Clear blond coloured beer with small white head. Hoppy aroma bit spiced up. Full bitter palate, bit sparklling. Finish is very better and dry, like the name over the edge? Ok, still a good beer, certainly for the us market.

Draught Good, dense, yellowish head over clear yellow-orange beer. Alcohol, goose shit, bamboo shoots, sweet and V.S. yeast esters. Very bitter, ink-like taste, ending sweeter, with more yeast features. Well-bodied, well-carbonated. Long hoppy aftertaste. OK! the bitterness is there. PLEASE, now use to learn US-hops. Then you’ll get the real thing. I had a first taste before this one, where the beer was clearly infected, soursmelling. Second sample was perfectly OK - pipes?
