Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Kernel rotbox treat. Hazy gold beer, tidy off white head. Light dry malt, semi sweet. Still a fair amount of hop bitterness here. Orange peel as well as bitter pine. Light dry finish shows some oxidisation. All things considered, it has survived well.

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como; bb 310514 L2013
Cloudy light amber color with medium sized creamy head. The aroma is only partially fruity, it’s mostly earthy, animal; there are also some soft hop resins. Good body strength; the malt flavor has accents of caramel and toffee, and it’s moderately sweet; strong bitterness, nothing close to the theoretical 409 IBU, but the hop is tired, not able to propose freshness; there is some orange jam; the hop resins tickle the tongue in the long final.
A good beer overall, but it seems an exercise that didn’t get to the highest result.

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 26/09/13. Hazed golden amber with a good sized frothy white head. Nose carries fairly aggressive hop notes, caramel malt, bitter grapefruit, grass, citric fruits. Tate comprises bitter grapefruit, candied sugars, rich mango, orange pith, bitter hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, agressive hop bitternes in the finish. Decent DIPA.

Draught Fluffy white-transparant head over hazy orange-yellow beer. Citrus, wet dog, pastadough, dried herbs. Bitter, orange, liqueurish - as a more bitter version of Mandarine Napoléon, or a liqueur based on kumquat. Medium to well-bodied. Oily, filmy feel, alcoholwarming. One to savour slowly.

330 ml bottiglia. L7712. BB 31/01/14. From Italy. Courtesy of Brandman. Cloudy orange colour with a tiny white head. Yoghurt sourness, fruity hops, mild bitterness and mild sweetness in the aroma. The flavour is much more dark hoppy with a lots of bitterness and some sweetish maltiness. Too dark. Not an enjoyable DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The taste is bitter, watery, orange peel, must, alcohol, toasty, spice, resin, alcohol, orange muffin and dirt with a hot, citric finish. Medium+ body an fine carbonation. Draft @ Moeder Lambic Italian Beerfest ’13.
