Leighton (14040) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2015
Bottle shared in London - sourced from Etre. Pours unclear gold with a frothy white head. Tangy citrus in the nose, some lemon, farmy funk, tangerine. Light-medium sweet flavor with mellow rindy bitterness, more funk, pith, grapefruit, melon, bitter hay, peach. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation - perhaps a little soft, though. Moderately drying on the finish, with more funk, damp hay, mandarin orange, tangerine. Good stuff overall, but the condition could be better.

Bottle split at Jack The Sipper leaves for the FBI again tasting, big thanks to Leighton, 14/07/15. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a moderate off white cap. Nose is light herbals, spice, straw, citric peel, melon. Taste comprises bitter orange, wood trace, tangerine, straw, melon, subtle barrel, farmy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough saison, not sure the barrel does much for it though?

Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Leighton. Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Thin malts. Grapefruit with a touch of pineapple. Light barrelly fruits. Whisper of spearmint on the back end. Smooth finish. Interesting.

Bottle @ The Clerkenwell Share. Thanks to whoever brought this along! Gold pour with a small white head. Nose is pretty sweet and fruity. Peach orchard. Apricot and nectarine fruit salad. Tangy fruit skin. Taste is has some wind barrel character. Lightly tart. A hint of booze. Some cheese/strawberry that I usually associate with sorachi ace. Plum and lemon zest. Very soft carbonation makes the beer feel a bit leaden on the palate. Interesting, but all over the place.

Bottle share at CBC Clerkenwell, many thanks to Leighton! Batch #9, 6.5%. Hazy orange / dark yellow, light sparkling, small ring of white head. Aroma is tangy bretty lemon, flowers, medicinal, touch of TCP. Body is medium, soft carbonation, smooth. Taste is buttery, lemon, vanilla, dental rinse with a soft bitterness. I quite liked this - not your everyday beer.

Bottle big thanks to Leighton. It pours lightly hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is soft, spearmint, wood, earthy. light vanilla, toasty coconut, funk, cereal, creaminess and vinous notes. The taste is crisp, sour apricot, peach, light menthol, sherbet, some acidity, wood, earthy barnyard, white grape, grapefruit and pomelo. Medium body and low carbonation. Interesting and somewhat unusual stuff. Aroma is pretty odd, but it tastes rather nice.

Bottle, thanks to my Uncle Gaines for sharing this with me. Pours a lightly hazy straw with a medium sized white head that lasts. Nose is funky, light hops, but more funky than hoppy, very akin to Green Flash Rayon Vert or Stillwater Premium with some age. Light oak, lots of brett. Really enjoyable and easy drinking. Even my parents loved it and they dont ususally like the funk.
