4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11/14/12. 750mL bottle thanks to Lukaduke - thanks, man! After popping the cap, the foam slowly starts to rise to the top - but we had glasses handy. Hazy golden pour with a big off-white head that cuts but laces plenty. Nice funky, lightly tart aroma with plenty of lemon and a bit of wood. Really nice flavor with more funky tartness, lemon, citrus, funk, yeast, a bit of wood, and touches of pale malts and grass. Tasty and drinkable - I would drink the shit out of this if it were near me and cheap. I shared this with a few other people and they agreed it was tasty and they were going to seek out other beers from this brewery. Thanks, Luke!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2015 Bottled May 2015, drunk 9/14/15.
Very light gold with some slightly deeper marigold tints and a large white head that slowly recedes to cover. Good clarity.
Really fun nose is all sorts of funky, musty, sort of generally mousey bacteria/brett goodness. Not terribly sulfury, but more the wet blanket/wet sheep/damp cellar funk. Some light fruitiness breaks through, a touch of pineapple-meets-cherry as well as very minimal wood character contributing a touch of vanilla. A real delight to just continually sniff the stuff, especially as it continues to warm up. Wonderfully subtle and elegant, as always, from Oxbow.
Similar flavors, matching the aroma, show a bit more leathery brett-like funk, dry pineapple, appleskin, cheese and a bare afterthought of pale malts. Sadly, it’s extremely dry and normally, Oxbow’s beers have a tightly carbonated, near creamy texture that would have helped balance the dryness, but not so here. Rather watery, very loose carbonation and poor malt structure really disappoint. Some light sourness and wood tannin, not at terribly high levels, are nonetheless problematic on account of the very low malt/extremely light body. Perhaps my other bottle will show better carbonation!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 mL swing top bottle poured into a snifter. Hazy yellow. Nice white head. Great retention.
Smell is bretty and oaky. Some farmhouse funk. Some hops. A bit of acidity. Very nice. Brighter acidic flavors in the taste, but nothing by way of sour. Grainy. Hops are muted. Grassy and lemony. Nice but not as complex as the nose.
Light, well carbonated. Easy drinking.
Delicious. Gets more acidic as I drink it. Less complex, too, but still good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Hazy hay yellow liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of funk, pineapple, mineral, grain, wood, oak, apple skin and lemon. Taste is very light sweet and light sour with notes of lemon, wood and mineral. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice, maybe the wood character is a bit too much. Great funk.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2015 Bottle bought @ Etre. Pours hazy golden with no head worth mentioning. Smell is tiny fruity, funky and rustic with crackers, lemon juice, pineapple, star fruit, grapes, hay, dry soil, leather, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sour, fruity and funky. Mouthfeel is flat, dry, tiny tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sour and tiny bitter with crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, pineapple, white grapes, papaya, hay, dry soil, barnyard and lemon zest. Nice fruity funk. Lovely to say the least. Pity it’s completely flat.
