Farmhouse Pale Ale is our American interpretation of a hoppy saison. Belgian pilsner malt provides the base for an abundance of American hops and our farmhouse yeast to shine together in this refreshing ale.

This didnít quite fit under the regular Farmhouse, or the barrel aged version. A special cask at Churchkey. Murky pale yellow color, scant white edge head. Aroma of vanilla, pine, citrus. Taste is sour and dusty straw and lemon. The oak chips added an earthiness and maybe some bretty characteristics. Not bad.

A golden saison with a thin white head. In aroma, nice pungent honey malt with wild herbs and beautiful hops, wild grass. In mouth, a nice herbaceous malt with fruity esters, herbal hops, nice and smooth. On tap at Lioní s Pride July 31., 2012.

Tap at smoke and Barrel. Pours clear golden. Weak head but nice lacing. Nose is lemon, wood, chemical cleaner. Taste is dusty, minty, anesthetic, chemical cleaner. Astringent, chemical finish. Uh, why does dc get all this oxbow stuff? Send it back.

Tap at CK. Might be aliased. Thanks to Travlr! Pours a full haze, low carbonation, near white SRM 3 pour. Spotty lace. Nose is herbal, tropical, pineapple, sticky candies, some phenolic/plastic fresh diaper. Taste is pretty weak- cedar, celery, vitamin C, minerals. Palate weak, seltzer.

My Bottom Line:
Bubblegum esters ride this Saisonís citrusy hops and spicy bitterness, while light straw kindles a cracking finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy opaque blond.
-Mouthfeel is bubbly and quenching.
-The bubblegum character might be a bit too much for my tastes, but it works very well with the rest of the flavor profile.
-The hop character is also quite leafy in the finish.

On tap at Novare Res.

On tap @ Duckfat in Portland. Beautiful orange-kissed gold colour, quite hazy. Lovel aroma of floral citrus and rustic yeast. The palate balances fresh tropical fruit hoppy character, delicate florals, and rustic hearty yeast perfectly. So drinkable! Loved it.

In short: A very harmonious blend of rustic Saison character and sharp citrusy-lemony refreshing APA. Excellent session beer..
How: Tap at Prohibition Pig, Waterbury VT.
The look: Cloudy orange-blond body topped by a medium white head.
In long: Nose is hop-forward (mostly tropical fruits) with rustic yeast still managing to shine. On the very first sip I liked the comfortable lively body. The taste offers a perfect balance between rusticity and sharp/refreshing fruity hops (grapefruits, tropical fruits, lemon juice). A finish this is as much lemony-tart as it is actually bitter. A tasty and refreshing beer that stands out from the pack. I liked this beer so much that I wanted to share a pint with someone I didnít even know but he told me to stop drinking from his beer and buy my own.
