2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dissapointing, this beer seems more of a pale ale than saison. Was hoping for a nice dry saison with complementing hops. The phenolic saison influence just wasn’t there.

There is brett in here, good drinkable farmhouse. On tap at Bierkraft. Understated bit of funk.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Churchkey - Washington, DC. Light yogurt and lavender aroma, with a bit of film and lactic acid. Flavors come through with generic early sourness and lots of soapy florals. This is one of the style of American Saison that I’ve grown weary of (a la Stillwater and more recent, underaged Jolly Pumpkin), overly floral, with accents of ethyl acetate and too young wild fermentation. The almond, peppercorn, and lavender florals of this are too much to make it enjoyable for me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at North Point. Pours cloudy pale gold with a sticky white head. Aroma is citrus, cidery yeast and a touch of peppery spice. Tastes much like it smells. Finish is dry, with enough bitterness to make you want another sip.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Smoke & Barrel, DC.
Pours hazy straw-yellow, negligent head.
Not much of a nose, but it came fairly cold from the tap. Mild citrus sour, no hardcore funk, but nicely bitter and drinkable beer. Hop Bitters overshadow the saison a bit. Little fizzy.

Draft poured pale yellow with a thin layer of foamy head. Smell and taste of saison yeast and hops, clean refreshing and crushable

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Proletariat with Linh. Pours a light amber with thick, soapy white lacing. Aroma is farmhouse funky saison and crisp grass. Mouthfeel is dry and crisp - seems like they’ve found a nice stride between funky farmhouse saison and a crisp, American pale ale. The dryness from both the hops and the saison works well.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Parker Pie. Pour is golden with a thin white head that leaves good lacing patterns. Aroma is hoppy but also funky with brett. Leather. Taste is dry and hoppy, bitterness level is medium. Flavors of flowers and yeast. Finishes with a lingering herbal sensation. This one is an homerun from an otherwise unknown to me brewery. I’m curious to try their other products now...

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
on tap at parker pie, vermont. bright yellow pour with a small creamy white cap, good retention and lacing. spicy and fruity yeastiness, mild and dusty bretts - young though, cracked wheat and crisp lean cereals, oranges, citrusy, floral. lively to average carbonation, light body, dry lightly bretty herbal-spicy finish. quite different than BA version, but it is as excellent! very rustic. did i mention that hoppy farmhouse saisons are my favourite brews? consider it done.
