4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From Notes... definitely got to sip this at Novare and pretty sure the guys had a keg stashed in a corner at the one of their events at the brewery as well. All I remember is it was a funk laden citrus bomb with layers of horsey brett, funked out stonefruit and juicy citra hop notes of skittles and starburst candy ! Would love to see more heavily dry hopped versions of their flagship funkmonster BAFPA !

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at the Novare Res Bier Café in Portland, ME for the Oxford Farmhouse Funkadelic on 4/20/2012. Listed as Liquid Sword #1. Pours a golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma has a nice mix of funky brett and zesty, fruity, lemony citra hops balanced with a big woodiness. Some Belgian yeast, a light straw, melon fruits, a hint of pepper, and a light doughy pale malt. Citruses with a bit of funk come on nicely as this warms. Flavor is very woody and funky fruity up front. Lots of zesty citruses with a nice lemon sticking out more in the end. Bretty funk blends well with the hay and zestiness of the citruses as a light tartness comes out in the finish. Light, pale bready malt backing with some hay, melons, pepper, and Belgian yeast as well. Finishes dry and woody with lots of funky citruses, a light tartness, fruity melons, a bit of a yeasty pepper spice, and a touch of pale malt sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a medium-light carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool beer. Funky, fruity, zesty, woody, peppery, and fresh. Very glad to have tried while in Portland.
