3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
4 oz. served into a wine glass at ChurchKey. From notes.
A: Pours a golden straw color with only a small white film for a head. It’s not quite as hazy as I like my saisons to look.
S: I notice fresh apples, cherries, and some wheat. It’s nicely fruity - especially for 4% - nor is it weighed down by overdone yeastiness. So maybe the clarity in the appearance was for the best?
T: Drier than the aroma suggested. A fruity opening is very brief before spicy, herbal notes dry out the middle, leading to a white grape finish. Simplistic, yet satisfying.
M: It’s everything you’d expect from such a small saison: very light, dry, and easy to drink. Carbonation could be more lively, otherwise there’s nothing really to complain about here.
O: Compared with some of the masterpieces I had earlier today, this one fell quite a ways short. But for what it is? It’s pretty solid. I would entertain the thought of having it again, at least.

Another tasty Farmhouse that I enjoyed during Philly Beer Week. Not as flavorful as the Sasuga Saison, and a bit drier. Still enjoyed it though.
