A farmhouse-style Festbier. Malty but dry, creamy yet crushable. A gentle hint of noble hops and an enigmatic Saison aura.

Tap at Oxbow. It pours cloudy deep orange with a small white head. The nose is rich, smoked, bitter - sweet, oily orange, bread and spice. The taste is rich, wood, leather, stewed orange, fruit cake, peach, light smoke, touch of sournesd and honey glazed ham with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Unusual, but the balance works for me.

Pours hazy golden with a thick eggshell head. Malty aroma has a sharp and somewhat sour fruity tone. Flavor is mainly sour apple, not too sour and letting a bit of malt make an appearance. Texture is fairly fizzy and firm, leaving a sour woody finish.

On tap at Goods from the Woods 2014 with Festero. Not sure why they would confuse us with a name like oxtoberfest, Marzen this is not. Smokey light malty sweetness hints of floral spicy hops and a rustic earthy funk. Nice brew with a bit of a confounding moniker.

Bottle at Crooked Stave with friends. Pour is hazy orange with a big tan head and decent lacing. Huge smoky, meaty, some tang, woody, and bacon in the aroma. Taste is big lemony, smoky, woody, some pepper, lacto notes, and meat drippings with a semi-tart finish. Neodymium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Not very good.

Bottle. Hazy golden amber color, medium white head. Nice aroma of burnt biscuits, burning haystacks. Taste has light fruit, straw, honey, dust. Very tasty, and different than your average fall beer.
