Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with bright peach edges and a two finger, frothy white head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind. Funky aroma with a subtle sulfur character. Musty brett/wild bugs are really strong in the nose, overpowering the other notes a bit. Underneath, there’s some sulfur with farmhouse funk, bready yeast and light fruit. On the fuller end of medium body with a really strong brett presence that dominates the other flavors. Dry and musty but the wild yeast overshadows the farmhouse/saison character too much for my preference. Subtle funky farmhouse yeast along with bread, zesty spice, light fruit and grain. The flavors fall off half way through and this beer is really light in the finish. Overall, it’s pretty one dimensional and could use better integration of flavors. Too brett heavy and a bit boring.

Draft at Pizzeria Paradiso. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was lots of citrus, lemon notes, with some serious tartness. Citrus, tart, with some light funky notes, grain, herbal notes.

On tap at Goods from the Woods 2014 with Festero. Light dry lightly fruity earthy saison. I tried this later in the day and I’m afraid it didn’t get the chance it should have.

[4/30/14] Draught at Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen. Pretty clear, slightly hazy golden. Lovely funky aroma, fruity, oaky and a bit sweaty. Dry flavor, sourish, fyunky and fruity. Medium-bodied, lively carbonation. Very good.

Nocturne (1380) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2014
Tap at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Mostly clear orange with a ring of white head. Vivid orangey citrus aroma. There’s also citric sharpness to the taste. Very bright and fruity with a drying finish. Fair amount of carb. Doesn’t seem a saison in line with what Belgium produces but certainly a very refreshing lower ABV beer.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar (Viktoriagade), shared with Skinnyviking. Close to clear golden. White bubbly ring to the rim of the glass. Fragile lacing. Fruity nose, tart and dry. Sharp grapefruit flavours alongside lemon and earthy malts. Dry bitter ending. Medium bodied. Pleasant, if not that convincing. (Copenhagen 30.04.2014).
